Marketing Specialist

META Planning & Design LLC is a leading planning firm providing a wide range of land planning consulting and design services in the Greater Houston development market. We are currently recruiting for a Marketing Specialist.

The Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting META's brand presence and client engagement. This full-time, on-site role, located in Katy, TX, includes tasks such as conducting market research, developing marketing strategies, managing communication channels and delivering excellent customer service experiences. The candidate will work closely with internal teams to execute marketing initiatives and ensure alignment with the company’s goals.

Role and Responsibilities

The duties will vary as experience is developed and new responsibilities become priority. The employee will need to be flexible to adapt to suddenly changing META needs, but the primary duties will be as follows:

• Coordinate Business Development events, including Coordination with clients and staff for attendees and involvement.
• Coordinate with various Business Development Associations regarding memberships, events, sponsorship, volunteer opportunities, etc.
• Attend and participate in Business Development events.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and staff for client appreciation events.
• Work within a defined budget and prepare regular reports and status updates.
• Coordinate with the company’s Social Committee for organization of company events and activities.
• Assist in running company errands, specifically those related to marketing tasks and events.
• Create and/or Coordinate with META staff in preparation of marketing materials (Printed materials, digital materials, etc.).
• Order and keeping track of inventory for all merch and marketing materials.
• Run and regularly update the company social media platforms.
• Create social media and marketing content
• Career fairs – attend, assist, develop material
• Prepare monthly “Spotlight” posts for various company projects. This will include coordination with clients and META staff.
• Research marketing and business opportunities in new and/or future markets (i.e. areas outside the Greater Houston market).
• Identify market trends and develop impactful campaigns.
• Draft and transcribe emails, correspondence, documents and forms.
• Maintain a presentable, professional appearance and attire.
• Assist in any ad-hoc tasks as required by META Staff.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business or similar field
• Three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in marketing or a related field
• A Portfolio of work samples is required
• Experience with all Social Media Platforms, specifically LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
• Experience with graphic software, including but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suites, Canva, etc.
• A solid knowledge of MS Office Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms, such as analytics tools, and social media management systems, is a plus.
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members.
• Able to work well both in a team environment and independently.
• Proficiency in Market Research and Marketing Strategy to identify market trends and develop impactful campaigns.
• Proven ability to create and execute innovative marketing plans and strategies to meet organizational objectives.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and exercise initiative and good judgement.
• Flexible and adapt to changing work demands, volumes and schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Punctual, consistent, reliable and patient.
