Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Digital Electronics Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves the design and development of high-reliability digital electronics for a variety of applications, including processor/FPGA boards and low power electronics. As part of a collaborative environment, you will help shape digital hardware architectures and lead electronics development initiatives, focusing on cutting-edge technology to support national security missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate project and system requirements into detailed hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Design, build, and test digital electronics, including microprocessors, power, and analog components.
  • Innovate solutions to complex issues, ensuring project milestones are met within schedule constraints.
  • Create and test prototypes, conduct debugging, and prepare comprehensive documentation for manufacturing and support.
  • Engage with engineers and partners to develop cost-effective and reliable product solutions.
  • Perform complex electronic designs independently and suggest modifications based on simulation results.
  • Identify technical risks at the program/system level and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and offer thoughtful feedback.
  • Manage tasks with multiple engineers and communicate effectively with project leadership and customers.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in digital electronic design and embedded computing.
  • Strong understanding of design and general computer architecture.
  • Experience in schematic capture, board layout, and integrating/debugging embedded systems.
  • Competence in circuit simulation using tools like HyperLynx and ANSYS.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • You must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design flow.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow.
