THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic Account Executive to join our team and drive the sales of Genius Sports' market-leading advertising solutions to brands and agencies. This role is crucial for expanding our programmatic services, direct sales and sports sponsorships.
Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with key advertisers, agencies, and trading desks to drive new business opportunities and secure long-term partnerships.
- Revenue Generation: Build and manage a robust pipeline of new customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Client Identification: Identify and prioritize potential clients for Genius Sports advertising solutions.
- Client Engagement: Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, serving as a strategic advisor and understanding their business objectives to deliver tailored advertising solutions that drive results.
- Proposal Development: Create strategic proposals that align with client KPIs, objectives, and challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to manage client campaigns and address their needs.
- RFP Participation: Engage in the RFP process to secure new customer business.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive developments, and emerging technologies in sports advertising to inform strategic decision-making and maintain our competitive edge.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in a direct sales role.
- Previous experience in selling and scaling programmatic ad campaigns at Publisher, DSP, Agency, or Trading Desk.
- Established relationships with advertising buying and planning teams at Omnicom Media Group
- Strong understanding of the sports content and advertising ecosystem.
- Proven experience in prospecting, cold calling, winning business, and selling ideas to new accounts.
- Exceptional organizational, issue resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver compelling, customized sales presentations.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the customer's organization and internal cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and other business purposes.
- Highly self-motivated with professional discipline and excellent follow-through.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales growth targets at a hyper growth company.
