Role Overview
Digital Provisions is seeking a Security Installation Technician (Entry–Mid Level) to support commercial security installation and service projects across Long Island and the surrounding region.
This role is ideal for technicians with 1-3 years of commercial security, low voltage, or related field work who are looking to grow their technical skill set in access control, video surveillance, and integrated security systems while working alongside experienced senior technicians and project teams.
You'll be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting security systems in active commercial environments, with opportunities to expand into advanced programming and leadership over time.
Key Responsibilities
Security Systems Installation & Support
Install and support access control, video surveillance (VMS), and intrusion systems
Assist with commissioning, testing, and basic programming of systems
Support camera installations, device configuration, and system validation
Troubleshoot common issues related to wiring, devices, power, and connectivity
Assist senior technicians with system upgrades, migrations, and cutovers
Low Voltage & Field Work
- Perform low voltage cable pulls, terminations, and device connections
- Install devices including cameras, card readers, door hardware, and power supplies
- Build and maintain clean, organized head end panels and equipment racks
- Work in conduit, raceways, cable trays, and commercial pathway systems
- Read and follow wiring diagrams, floor plans, and basic schematics
Job Site & Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with project teams, senior technicians, and project managers
- Follow task sequencing and daily work plans
- Communicate progress, issues, and material needs clearly
- Maintain professionalism with clients and site personnel
Safety, Quality & Documentation
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company job site practices
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Assist with documentation such as device labeling and basic as builts
- Support quality checks and system turnover processes
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial security, low‑voltage, or related field work
- Exposure to access control and/or video surveillance systems
- Hands‑on experience with low‑voltage wiring, terminations, and device installation
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addressing, device connectivity)
- Ability to work on ladders and in physically active job‑site environments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to local job sites as required
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Exposure to platforms such as Genetec, LenelS2, or Milestone
- Experience in K‑12, municipal, or commercial construction environments
- Manufacturer or industry certifications
- Interest in growing toward senior technician or foreman responsibilities
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- On-site work at customer locations, including commercial buildings, schools, and industrial facilities.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time and complete overhead work for long periods of time.
- Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11pm. During schools breaks (ie: summer break) and holidays, the standard schedule is 7am to 3pm.
- Occasional weekend work may be required for project deadlines.
