Ecommerce Manager
Arett Sales
We are a 75-year-old, family-owned distribution company led by the fourth generation. We operate with a family-style culture: high trust, direct communication, and a team-first mindset. We operate across both 1P and 3P e-commerce channels with our core business servicing the independent retailer.
We've built a strong foundation in electronic order management with EDI/API connections, automated order flows, and some internal automation tools already in place. We have the infrastructure, systems, and support teams - now we need a high-output AI-forward operator to elevate how we use data to run and grow the business.
You will be working within the e-commerce team and reporting directly to ownership. You will be supported by dedicated Customer Service, Finance, and our internal advertising agency
The Role
Time Allocation (Expected)
- About 70% will be spent developing, maintaining, and orchestrating AI-driven agents and automated decision systems;
- The remaining 30% involves high-impact collaboration with cross-functional partners to translate insights into coordinated business actions.
This is a role built for the AI-forward operator that wants the ability to make a massive impact working directly with company ownership: data control, technology integration, automation efficiencies, increased decision velocity, and AI agent implementation are the barometers for success.
Every major e-commerce platform has its own reporting, analytics, chargebacks, notifications, and operating rules. Catalog and content workflows vary by channel, and external tools add even more data sources. Your job is to unify these signals into a single, decision-ready view—then use it to keep channels healthy and compliant, identify near- and long-term risks early, and recommend actions the business can execute.
This position requires someone who executes - not just manages. You will be hands-on in systems and data daily, and you'll work directly with the EVP, internal EDI team, external API developer, e-commerce assistant, marketing specialist, and internal advertising agency to increase sales and efficiencies through AI processes and agents
Key Responsibilities
1) Data Unification & Decision-Ready Insights (Primary Focus)
- Consolidate, normalize, and reconcile data across Amazon (Vendor + Marketplace), Walmart Marketplace, Wayfair, Home Depot, Lowe's, BestBuy.com, and other digital channels.
- Build repeatable insights that provides decision-ready visibility into true profitability (fees, freight, returns, allowances/chargebacks, fulfillment impacts).
- Create outputs that leadership can act on quickly: clear recommendations, quantified impact, and prioritized next actions.
- Design standardized datasets (SKU mapping, pack logic, fee logic, cost components) so reporting stays consistent across channels.
2) Compliance, Platform Health & Risk Detection
- Monitor and proactively identify platform risks and operational issues: listing/content compliance, suppressions, taxonomy/attribute gaps, feed/integration mismatches, and portal issues.
- Track policy and program changes that could affect sales, eligibility, or profitability.
- Build early-warning reporting so problems are identified before they impact revenue.
3) Catalog selection, Pricing, Profitability & Go-Forward Recommendations
- Provide pricing recommendations backed by analysis; execute pricing updates within EVP-approved guidelines.
- Own net margin analysis by SKU and channel and turn insights into clear go-forward actions (what to change, why, expected impact, risks).
- Identify margin expansion opportunities, leakage drivers, and corrective actions.
4) Integrations & Technical Coordination (Required)
- Own the day-to-day relationship with API developer(s): define requirements, prioritize work, validate outputs, and ensure timelines are met.
- Coordinate closely with internal EDI staff to ensure order flow, acknowledgements, inventory, pricing, and item data are accurate and stable across channels.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specs, acceptance criteria, and test plans.
- Monitor integration health and resolve issues quickly (mapping errors, data mismatches, platform changes).
5) Catalog Enablement & Content Deployment (Secondary Focus)
- Improve catalog data quality: SKU mapping, pack logic, attributes, variation structure, suppressions, and listing accuracy.
- Partner with the internal ad agency to ensure photography/creative is deployed correctly and optimized for conversion.
- Coordinate effectively across Finance, Customer Service, Marketing, EDI, and leadership.
6) AI, Automation & Experimentation (Required)
- Use AI tools daily to increase throughput and quality across analysis, documentation/SOPs, and workflow improvements.
- Build AI-assisted workflows/agents to automate recurring tasks: exception reporting, anomaly detection, data QA, and investigation acceleration.
- Continuously improve systems - test, iterate, and scale what works.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of AI Data Platform & Decision Systems (RAG + SQL + Integrations) lead
- 5+ year’s experience in e-commerce related company a plus
- Extreme proficiency in data manipulation and reporting: combining, aggregating, validating, and producing decision-ready outputs at speed.
- Strong Excel competency with large datasets (pivots, advanced formulas; Power Query preferred).
- Demonstrated adoption of AI tools in daily work; comfort using AI + automation to move faster and smarter.
- Experience coordinating technical work across teams (API developer relationship and internal stakeholders).
- Execution-first mentality - you do the work, ship outputs, and iterate quickly.
- Team-first attitude and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Experience / Fit (AI-Forward Role)
- Preferred experience and strong interest in: Microsoft Excel, AI agents, AI automation, chat bot integration, and Visual Studio Code, (using Claude Code).
- Demonstrated adoption of AI tools in daily work is required; candidates who prefer traditional workflows and are not eager to leverage AI and automation are unlikely to be successful in this position.
Who Should NOT Apply
- Candidates who want a pure management role without hands-on execution.
- Candidates uncomfortable being in systems, data, and platforms daily.
- Anyone not interested in leveraging AI, automation, and technology as core tools.
Education
4-year degree preferred, but experience, knowledge, proven performance, and character take precedence over any specific educational background without those attributes.
Compensation $80,000+/year* (Experience based)
Location Hybrid - Southeast New Jersey

Manages E-commerce Assistant, External API Development team.
Schedule 2 days in-office / 3 days remote
- Remote consideration - Hybrid is preferred, but exceptional candidates may be considered fully remote.
