Position Overview

At Stantec, a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting, the Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) is responsible for developing and implementing multi-platform content strategies across digital and social media channels. In close partnership with Marketing, Communications & PR colleagues and practitioners, you will drive engaging content programs, campaign management, SEO optimization, and brand storytelling that support business growth and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex ideas into dynamic, engaging, and on-brand content.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of digital marketing to build strong brand awareness.
  • Partner with practitioners and MCPR colleagues to plan, implement, measure, and report on multi-channel digital campaigns (web, social, email, blog, video, webinars, eBooks, interactive content, and virtual events) that drive demand, lead generation, and client engagement.
  • Ensure that strategic messages and Stantec’s voice are consistently communicated to target audiences.
  • Develop content and manage campaign calendars in close alignment with Public Relations strategies.
  • Collaborate with SEO, visual communications, and digital marketing professionals to optimize content with effective keyword tagging and titling.
  • Establish a solid understanding of target audiences and map content strategies across different stages of the sales process.
  • Measure and report campaign performance against defined goals.
  • Support promotional activities including events, webinars, conferences, and tradeshows, with recommendations for both virtual and in-person setups.

Required Qualifications

  • Creative and strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional prioritization abilities and capacity to balance multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to create engaging content that positively impacts brand and business objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for simplifying complex ideas.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, HubSpot, Hootsuite) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, SEO tools, Microsoft PowerBI).
  • Experience hosting webinars and digital events on platforms such as Teams or GoTo.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with creative professionals including writers, graphic designers, and videographers.
  • Post-secondary degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing, content marketing, communications, or public relations (agency or professional services experience preferred).

  • Compensation: Competitive pay ranges based on location with opportunities for bonus eligibility. For example, in WA, DC & various CA areas, salaries range from $90,200 to $130,900, and in NYC, CA (Bay Area) & NJ, from $96,300 to $139,700. Final compensation is determined by education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
