Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced E-Commerce Development Lead Specialist Engineer responsible for leading technical design, architecture, development, and delivery of enterprise-level e-commerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with modern e-commerce platforms, backend and frontend technologies, system integrations, and cloud-based environments. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, product managers, and development teams to build scalable and high-performing e-commerce applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise e-commerce platforms and applications.

Own solution architecture, technical roadmap, best practices, and code quality standards.

Collaborate with product leaders, UX teams, and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, including code reviews and performance optimization.

Integrate e-commerce systems with payment gateways, CRM, ERP, OMS, and third-party services.

Optimize application performance, security, scalability, and reliability.

Manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release planning.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root cause analysis and resolutions.

Ensure compliance with security policies, data privacy, and industry standards.

Support ongoing support and enhancements to e-commerce systems and digital applications.

Required Qualifications

12+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong background in e-commerce application development.

Hands-on expertise with major e-commerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, A e Commerce (Magento), Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), or similar.

Strong proficiency in modern web technologies such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React/Angular/Vue, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.

Solid understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).

Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

Experience integrating payment systems, search frameworks, caching solutions, and analytics platforms.

Strong understanding of DevOps practices, application scaling, load balancing, and monitoring tools.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and work with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments.

Knowledge of headless commerce, MACH architecture, and API-first solutions.

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or container-based deployment.

Familiarity with performance tuning tools and modern observability platforms such as Splunk, New Relic, or Datadog.

Experience leading offshore/onshore distributed development teams.
