Your Mission
The Lead I Strategy & Transformation (S&T) is responsible for delivering focused consulting services to
drive transformative change and real-world value for Medidata customers. The Lead I S&T, will ensure
that both internal and external clients are provided with a premier experience and drive value by
combining their best practice knowledge and domain expertise with the latest tools and technologies
available. The Lead I S&T functions as an integrator between business needs and technology driven
solutions, identifying and creatively solving complex business problems, designing and re-engineering
critical processes as necessary and fundamentally transforming the way a client best adopts Medidata
technology solutions with associated best practices.
The Lead I S&T’s primary responsibility is to support specific consulting practice engagements to drive
value for their customers. The Lead I S&T does this by working to solve complex and operational
challenges while maximizing the value of Medidata's platform with wrap-around processes, practices, and
procedures.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Support innovation and process improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional
initiatives
- Support and co-lead/lead process improvement workshops, sessions, and/or engagements with a
range of internal and external business stakeholders
- Collaborate to analyze outcomes and develop current state process maps, optimized value-based
recommendations and KPIs, best practices, and high level future state conceptual model
- Structure ambiguous and complex problems and synthesize them into clear takeaways and
recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods
- Drive adoption through critical thinking and use of creative problem-solving practices that focus
on human centered solutions and outcomes
- Promote alignment on strategies, goals, deliverables, and timelines by managing relationships to
deliver value-based outcomes
- Develop reusable consulting assets to help improve quality of and accelerate time-to-delivery for
client engagements
- Identify consulting offerings that support digital transformations and analytically driven operating
models
- Ensure the strategic recommendations and creative deliverables surpass client expectations
- Utilize operational analytics and project management tools to optimize execution of programs and
studies, track project progress, and prepare status reports, as required. Anticipate and identify
issues that could affect timelines or quality and proactively develop options and solutions.

- Engage with senior level clients to collaborate on solutions and approaches to improve and grow
their ability to meet business objectives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients
- Facilitate turning ideas and initiatives into tangible results for both internal and external customers
- Effectively operate and be comfortable working with undefined criteria (gray space) to create
defined deliverables
- Maintain referenceable clients from beginning to end of the project life cycle
- Drive consulting excellence by identifying and implementing industry best practice, best-in-class
consulting methodologies
Your Education & Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of related experience with solid experience managing complex consulting
engagements (Clinical Research Industry experience a must; SaaS/IT/Software experience a
plus)
- Excellent understanding with a proven track record in continuous improvement concepts including
Six Sigma, Agile, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
- Highly motivated, experienced, and ambitious professional with a proven track record of
engagement leadership and execution, who will bring industry expertise, strategy thinking, and
process improvements to deliver significant impact to our clients and practice.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in consulting practices and methodologies.
- Proven consulting and engagement management skills and prior consulting experience a must.
- Deep understanding of Clinical Development, Data Management, and Analytics preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Value engagement experience a plus
- Superior project and customer management skills
- Technically savvy. Able to understand modern complex technical environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Expert in MS office software; knowledge of Google Suite a plus
- Expert Knowledge of data and tools used to manage customer service organizations
- Experience working in a matrix environment
- Willingness to travel 25+%
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $114,750-153,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $121,500-162,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250-151,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250-135,000.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750-137,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
