Head of Operations

Macgregor Black is partnering with a high-growth international consumer goods business in the search for a Head of Operations, based in North Carolina.
This is a pivotal role responsible for owning the full operations and logistics function across the US market. The successful candidate will establish best-in-class supply chain processes, ensure seamless distribution through a 3PL network, and deliver an exceptional customer experience in line with ambitious commercial plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day operations across logistics, supply chain, and distribution for the US market.
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business growth.
- Lead end-to-end supply chain activities, proactively identifying and resolving operational or logistical challenges.
- Manage all warehouse and distribution activities handled by the company’s 3PL partner located in Pennsylvania, ensuring service levels and KPIs are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate inventory visibility and provide regular inventory and shipment status updates to internal teams and customers.
- Act as a key operational liaison with customers, addressing order requirements, delivery updates, and any supply chain issues.
- Support commercial and customer service teams with operational insights, timelines, and solutions.
- Support cost calculations, budgeting, and analysis to ensure efficient and transparent operational spend.
- Track performance metrics and introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Bring strong understanding of Amazon logistics, marketplace requirements, and compliance processes—highly beneficial for success in this role.
- Ensure operational systems and processes support on-time delivery and strong customer satisfaction scores.
- Apply consumer goods industry knowledge to manage returns policies, reverse-logistics flows, and the high service-level expectations of retail and e-commerce customers.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in an operations, supply chain, or logistics leadership role within the consumer goods industry.
- Strong experience managing 3PL partners and overseeing warehouse/distribution operations.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex supply chain issues in fast-moving environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Amazon logistics, Seller Central/Vendor Central processes, or marketplace operations (highly advantageous).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to support cost modelling and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated success in improving operational processes, service levels, and on-time delivery performance.
