Hush

Company: Hush (gethush.ai)

Location: Detroit, MI — This fellowship is in-person

Type: Full-time Research Fellowship (6–12 months, with possibility of extension)

About Hush

Hush is a Detroit-headquartered digital privacy and personal security company protecting executives, high-net-worth families, and enterprise leaders from data exposure, fraud, impersonation, harassment, and real-world safety risks.

We operate at the intersection of privacy, security, technology, and human risk — and we are building the world’s most comprehensive observatory on how digital exposure translates into financial, reputational, and physical harm.

Our work is guided by four core principles

  • Member Obsessed — We exist to protect and serve real people with real risk.
  • Relentless Improvement — We pursue continuous rigor, refinement, and excellence.
  • Uncompromising Ethics — We treat data, privacy, and trust as sacred.
  • Pioneering Excellence — We build what does not yet exist, and we build it well.

This Fellowship is designed for someone deeply aligned with these values.

The Fellowship

Hush is offering a Research Fellowship to design, build, and operate a new, original intelligence product: The Hush Digital Risk Index — a recurring, data-driven publication that measures how digital exposure, AI, online behavior, and emerging threats affect individuals, executives, and families in the United States.

This is an opportunity to

  • Create a new category of intelligence from the ground up
  • Work with novel, real-world datasets at the frontier of fraud, privacy, and safety
  • Shape how journalists, policymakers, and business leaders understand digital risk
  • Publish work that is cited, influential, and consequential

This fellowship is in-person at our Detroit office and is best suited for someone who thrives in a high-ownership, intellectually demanding environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design the conceptual and analytical framework for the Hush Digital Risk Index
  • Define metrics, methodologies, and thresholds for digital exposure, impersonation, fraud, and threat escalation
  • Integrate and analyze data from:
  • Public and government sources (FBI, FTC, DOJ, DHS, etc.)
  • Industry and academic datasets
  • Hush’s proprietary, anonymized exposure and risk data
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks
  • Ensure rigor, reproducibility, and ethical handling of sensitive data
  • Produce:
  • Monthly “Signal Briefs”
  • Quarterly flagship Index Reports
  • Translate technical findings into clear, externally publishable insights
  • Collaborate with communications and leadership to support media briefings and public interpretation
