Search Engine Optimization Specialist

ZAG Interactive is looking for a full-time SEO Specialist to join our Marketing team. This role will be responsible for supporting our many SEO clients who are primarily banks and credit unions. The perfect candidate will have a mix of passion and SEO experience – juggling a large workload of project related SEO tasks as well as ongoing SEO clients.

Responsibilities

• Support basic SEO/GEO responsibilities
• Provide content optimization suggestions for clients
• Understand and advocate for technical SEO best practices
• Perform more sophisticated SEO skills including schema
• Audit sites for SEO best practices and opportunities
• Continue learning as SEO/GEO evolves
• Write SEO related blogs to support ongoing client literacy and ZAG’s ongoing marketing plans
• Organize and prioritize a very heavy workload from different teams
• Expertly lead client-facing and internal calls on SEO topics

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in digital marketing or communications (or equivalent)
• 2-3 years of SEO experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of on-page and off page best practices
• Experience supporting standard SEO tactics (keyword research, meta tags, content optimization)
• Technical SEO experience (or willingness to learn) including schema markup and other tactics
• Strong business writing and editing skills
• Knowledge of the Microsoft suite
• Google Analytics certification and fundamental skillset
• Proficiency with Google Search Console
• Willingness to learn several CMS’ on the job
• Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Experience in financial services is a plus, and willingness to quickly learn is essential

Experience in all of the above-listed qualifications is not required. However, we seek a candidate well versed within various digital channels, eager to learn and with a desire to grow in a digital agency setting.

Our agency is located in Glastonbury CT (outside of Hartford) so a hybrid work schedule is preferred. Candidates outside of the area must be within reasonable driving distance of the office and/or within the Eastern Time Zone in order to effectively work with other teammates.
