Position Summary

The E-Commerce Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s Shopify direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce platforms. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through digital merchandising, product optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and data-driven ecommerce strategies.

The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, with experience managing Shopify stores, optimizing the customer journey, and collaborating with marketing, operations, and creative teams to improve the overall online shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify Store Management

Manage day-to-day operations of the Shopify storefront including product setup, collections, merchandising, promotions, and content updates to ensure the site is accurate, engaging, and optimized for conversions.

Digital Merchandising & Product Optimization

Create and optimize product pages with compelling product descriptions, SEO-focused content, high-quality imagery, and structured product data. Manage collections, filters, and merchandising strategies to improve product discoverability and customer navigation.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

Continuously analyze the customer journey to identify friction points and opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value (AOV), and overall customer experience. Implement improvements to product pages, landing pages, merchandising strategies, and checkout flow.

Ecommerce Marketing & Campaign Execution

Support ecommerce marketing initiatives including product launches, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and site-wide merchandising updates. Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure website alignment with paid media, email marketing, and social campaigns.

Analytics & Performance Reporting

Monitor key ecommerce metrics including revenue, traffic, conversion rate, customer acquisition, average order value, and product performance. Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership to inform merchandising and marketing strategies.

Inventory & Product Availability

Monitor product availability and coordinate with internal teams to maintain accurate inventory levels within Shopify. Help manage product launches, restocks, and merchandising adjustments to minimize stockouts and maximize sales opportunities.

Customer Experience & Journey Optimization

Ensure the online shopping experience is seamless across desktop and mobile. Identify opportunities to improve navigation, search functionality, product discovery, and checkout flow to enhance the overall customer journey.

Lifecycle Marketing Support

Collaborate with marketing teams to support retention and lifecycle marketing initiatives, including email marketing, SMS campaigns, and promotional campaigns. Ensure promotions, bundles, and offers are correctly reflected on the website.

Shopify Ecosystem & Tools

Manage and optimize the use of Shopify apps and integrations including analytics tools, marketing platforms, and conversion optimization tools to improve store performance.

Market & Competitor Analysis

Stay current on ecommerce trends, competitor activity, and digital merchandising best practices. Identify new opportunities to enhance product positioning, site performance, and overall ecommerce growth.

Operational Monitoring

Monitor ecommerce operations including order processing, returns, site performance, and fulfillment coordination. Work with internal teams to resolve operational issues and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 4–6+ years of experience managing ecommerce stores, preferably within Shopify or other DTC ecommerce platforms
  • Experience working in apparel, consumer goods, or retail ecommerce preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with Shopify Admin
  • Experience with ecommerce analytics tools (Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, Looker, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SEO, digital merchandising, and CRO best practices
  • Familiarity with Shopify apps and ecommerce tools (Klaviyo, Recharge, Yotpo, Gorgias, etc.) is a plus

Analytical Skills

  • Strong ability to interpret ecommerce performance data and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Experience monitoring KPIs such as conversion rate, AOV, traffic sources, and product performance

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field preferred.
