Digital Designer, UX & E-Commerce
Ernesta Inc.
Ernesta is on a mission to bring gorgeous, design-focused custom rugs to homes and places of gathering. They are seeking a Product/Digital Designer to evolve the end-to-end digital experience across Ernesta’s website and e-commerce platform, focusing on creating intuitive customer journeys that enhance brand experience and usability.
Responsibilities
- Design and support core e-commerce journeys including homepage, navigation, PDPs, cart, checkout, and post-purchase experiences. Make tasteful iterations that increase conversion as well as aesthetics
- Work closely with the Creative team to evolve the brand identity through creating and collaborating on net-new visions for design-forward guide pages and brand touchpoints within the digital experience
- Translate product requirements and user needs into clear user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
- Partner with Product, Growth, and Analytics to identify friction points and opportunities across the funnel
- Evaluate and apply feedback based on consumer insights and A/B testing tied to conversion rate, and AOV
- Contribute to solutions for complex purchasing flows such as custom sizing, sampling, and trade vs consumer paths. Apply e-commerce and accessibility best practices while maintaining alignment with the Ernesta brand identity
- Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are well-documented, feasible, and thoughtfully implemented. Consider edge cases in the design process to streamline QA
- Collaborate with Marketing and Creative partners to ensure product experiences align with Ernesta’s visual identity and storytelling on other platforms
- Refresh and contribute to shared design systems, patterns, and documentation, ensuring cohesion and efficiency
- Effectively communicate project progress and design decisions
Skills
- 4-6 years of experience in product design, ecommerce-focused digital design, or UX design with visual design experience
- Experience designing for and launching conversion-focused e-commerce websites required (in the luxury interiors, home or fashion industries, or in an agency or studio setting are all a big plus)
- Solid understanding of UX principles, CRO, information architecture, and usability best practices is essential. Ability to design complex flows clearly and simply
- Proven proficiency in Figma and prototyping for UI animations and motion
- Strong communication skills and comfort explaining and justifying design decisions
- Appreciation for good design, an interest in the interiors space, and understanding of basic design principles such as hierarchy, typography, and keep up-to-date with industry trends and news
- Comfortable building and maintaining a component library for consistent and effective design and development
- Receptive to feedback and iteration during problem-solving processes and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
