SEO Manager Technical & On-Page for a US Company (Remote and Graveyard) - Contract to Hire
UpworkA) SEO Leadership & Site Optimization (90% of role)
Own SEO strategy execution across the site: on-page SEO, technical SEO, and site health.
Troubleshoot ranking issues and implement fixes independently (e.g., keyword cannibalization, indexing issues, Google algorithm updates).
Monitor tools like SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4 for performance, coverage, and errors; implement solutions quickly.
Maintain on-page SEO: update titles/meta, add internal links, refresh stale content, implement FAQ/schema updates.
Optimize site performance: compress/resize images, lazy-load media, minimize render-blocking assets, and improve Core Web Vitals.
Work with AI tools and automation workflows to enhance SEO and content operations.
B) CRM & Workflow Management (Supportive)
Use CRMs (preferably Go High Level, also familiar with Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho) to manage campaigns, leads, and workflows.
Build and maintain automations/workflows for marketing operations.
Collaborate with team members to align CRM data with SEO and site performance initiatives.
C) Elementor & WordPress Site Management (5–10% of role)
Convert legacy WordPress pages (Classic Editor/HTML) into Elementor using brand-consistent templates and global styles.
Implement technical hygiene during migration: 301 redirects, canonical tags, sitemaps, no-index where appropriate, fix orphan pages.
Stage/publish new pages or updates; QA for design, SEO, accessibility, and SOP compliance.
Basic troubleshooting of front-end issues with HTML/CSS and Elementor.
D) Collaboration, Compliance, & Standards
Follow SOPs, checklists, and QA processes meticulously; suggest improvements proactively.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive content with care, particularly in healthcare/behavioral health contexts.
Communicate clearly with team members and represent the brand professionally.
Work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of hands-on SEO experience, particularly with WordPress sites.
Elementor Pro page-building experience.
Strong on-page and technical SEO fundamentals: site architecture, redirects, canonicals, sitemaps, robots.txt, schema basics.
Experience with SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and page speed/Core Web Vitals optimization.
Knowledge of Yoast or Rank Math, media optimization, and basic accessibility standards.
Basic HTML/CSS skills for troubleshooting WordPress/Elementor issues.
Organized, detail-driven, and able to follow SOPs, checklists, and QA processes.
Clear written communication for documentation and updates.
Nice to Have
Building reusable Elementor templates.
Experience with managed WordPress hosting (WP Engine, Rocket.net) and CDNs like Cloudflare.
Familiarity with performance optimization tools (WP Rocket, NitroPack, Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, Looker Studio dashboards).
Experience with healthcare or behavioral health content.
Compensation & Schedule
Rate: $9 USD per hour.
Working hours
8 hours CST Time
Paid time off: Includes standard US holidays and paid leaves.
Fully remote; virtual collaboration via RingCentral (camera optional except for standups/meetings).
