Wings for Life USA funds the most promising spinal cord injury research across the United States, with a clear mission to discover a biological cure for spinal cord injuries. The Social Outreach team at Red Bull Media House North America, Inc. primarily provides operational support to Wings for Life USA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist will assist the Director of Marketing Communications in implementing essential initiatives aimed at amplifying the mission of Wings for Life. This role will be instrumental in fostering engagement with a passionate community, boosting awareness of Wings for Life's objectives, and inspiring action to support innovative spinal cord injury research.
This position seeks an organized and creative individual with a strong enthusiasm for storytelling and community engagement. The Specialist will collaborate closely with colleagues from Philanthropy Programs, Events & Partnerships, Red Bull stakeholders, and opinion leaders to effectively promote our key messages.
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
AMBASSADOR COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
Take ownership of and develop the Wings for Life Ambassador Community program to enhance engagement, raise awareness, and support the department's fundraising objectives. Create and manage the communication strategy for the Ambassador Community, ensuring the delivery of a consistent, engaging, and authentic message. Plan and facilitate the Community All-Hands meetings, including preparing presentations and coordinating guest speakers. Serve as the main point of contact for Ambassador inquiries and provide necessary support.
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
Supervise the continuous maintenance and updates of the organization's website, ensuring that its content remains accurate, engaging, and consistent with brand messaging while adhering to SEO best practices. Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop, edit, and publish web content that showcases organizational initiatives, highlights human interest stories, and demonstrates the impact of donor contributions. Implement email marketing campaigns using Salesforce, ensuring top-notch design, effective messaging, and well-executed audience segmentation strategies.
DATA INSIGHTS & REPORTING
Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, social media, websites, and paid media, while identifying trends, successes, and areas for enhancement. Work closely with the Director to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks for paid, owned, and earned media initiatives. Create dashboards and reports to deliver concise, actionable insights to internal stakeholders, ensuring data is presented effectively to support decision-making.
FUNDRAISER EVENT SUPPORT
Design customized marketing strategies to enhance awareness, engagement, and involvement in various fundraising initiatives. Create comprehensive toolkits and resources to support community-led event organizers in effectively promoting their fundraisers while adhering to Wings for Life's mission and branding guidelines. Act as a brand ambassador at significant events, engaging with attendees, addressing inquiries, and sharing Wings for Life's mission.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Provide support to internal departments for marketing and communications requests, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Assist in the creation of presentations, reports, and other materials as required. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to successfully implement marketing initiatives. Stay updated on emerging trends in digital marketing and nonprofit communications, incorporating innovative strategies into campaigns.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & EDUCATION REQUIRED
- 1-3 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally within a nonprofit or community engagement setting.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A creative and resourceful thinker with a strong passion for storytelling and fostering community connections.
- Proficient in Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) and email marketing platforms, such as Salesforce Account Engagement.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation abilities.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Possesses an analytical mindset with proven experience in interpreting data and providing actionable insights.
- Availability to travel as required, with flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends.
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $64,080.00 - $96,120 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
