About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and results-driven Executive Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts at Michel Germain Parfums.
This senior leadership role is perfect for someone who loves storytelling and wants to elevate a founder-driven Canadian luxury fragrance brand known for intimacy, allure, and French-inspired elegance.
You’ll own 360° marketing strategies that drive sales growth, consumer acquisition, retention, and brand elevation across prestige and mass channels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Brand Development • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing & product strategies by country, channel (Prestige & Mass), and season • Partner directly with the Founder, CEO, and VP of Brand Development on innovation, seasonal initiatives, and long-term vision • Lead compelling launch plans, promotional programs, gift sets, and experiential events
Trade Marketing & Retailer Partnerships • Build strong relationships with global and domestic retailers • Negotiate impactful programs, co-op partnerships, and seasonal presentations • Oversee in-store visual merchandising, planograms, testers, and displays
Product & Category Management • Define strategy across fragrance categories, formats, and pricing • Collaborate on forecasting and analyze competitive data (Circana & others)
360° Campaigns & Consumer Marketing • Lead integrated marketing campaigns from planning to optimization • Manage e-commerce site and digital programs • Develop localized advertising and CRM strategies
Influencer & Social Media Strategy • Own social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest & emerging platforms • Identify, onboard, and manage macro-to-micro influencers • Create organic + paid content calendars and track ROI/EMV
Merchandising, Operations & Financials • Manage catalogues, displays, gift sets, and creative approvals • Build and optimize the marketing budget with strong ROI focus • Conduct monthly performance reviews and support forecasting
Team Leadership • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team (Marketing Specialists + Content Producer) • Foster collaboration with Sales, Operations, Digital, and PR
Qualifications
- 10+ years in luxury beauty/fragrance marketing • 5–7+ years in senior leadership (Director level or above) • Proven expertise in trade marketing, retailer negotiations, visual merchandising, influencer partnerships, and social media • Deep knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and global fragrance markets • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (Master’s a plus) • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint) and NetSuite • Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset • Energetic, organized, business-driven, and passionate about luxury fragrance storytelling
