A Brief Overview

The Vice President of Sales Operations will lead all sales functions at Avera Health Plans. This key position requires expertise in leadership, relationship-building, project management, and analytical sales skills to foster a culture of success and achieve ongoing business goals.

What You Will Do

Establish a successful sales culture that meets and exceeds annual sales targets across all product lines.
Design and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and grow market share.
Lead and develop a high-performing sales team through mentorship and collaborative approaches.
Manage the complete sales pipeline, oversee proposals and contract negotiations, ensuring an effective sales qualification process.
Define and execute effective compensation and incentive programs for the sales team.
Create strategic engagement plans to foster relationships with key stakeholders, agents, and groups to enhance sales and retention metrics.
Build and nurture strong community and Avera leadership relationships to generate leads and establish customer connections.
Provide accurate sales forecasting and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
Monitor market activity and competitor insights, providing regular feedback to the leadership team.
Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure successful product launches.
Lead recruitment, training, and employee development initiatives, fostering a productive work environment.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the specified hours. Successful performance will include effective communication, visual acuity for job duties, and the ability to hear and understand effectively.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

Must possess a current life and health insurance license, including non-resident licenses in relevant states within 30 days.
A minimum of seven years of extensive sales experience, including five years in leadership roles within health insurance or healthcare technology.
Strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire effective working relationships across the organization.
In-depth understanding of health plan market dynamics, especially selling to payers and providers.
Proven success in achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities.
Strong negotiation capabilities with a track record of closing complex deals.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
