POSITION: Digital Marketing & Content Specialist (6-Month Contract)

REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing

DIVISION: Corporate

REGION: National

TERM: Full-time, 6-month contract with potential for extension based on business needs

LOCATION: This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, with regular in-office collaboration required. Candidates should expect to work primarily from the office.

Summary

The Digital Marketing & Content Specialist plays a key role in executing and optimizing Good Earth Coffeehouse’s national digital marketing presence.

Working within the strategic framework established by the VP of Marketing, this role is responsible for the coordination and execution of social media content, digital communications, and scalable Local Store Marketing support tools across Good Earth’s growing national network of nearly 60 coffeehouses.

This is a hands-on, creative, and detail-oriented role suited to someone who thrives in execution, takes ownership of digital channels, and proactively contributes ideas to elevate brand performance while maintaining brand consistency.

Key Responsibility Areas

Social Media & Content Execution

  • Own and manage the national social media calendar in alignment with VP strategy and brand direction
  • Create and publish high-quality digital content including reels, carousels, posts, stories, and captions
  • Film and edit short-form video content as required
  • Write LinkedIn posts, blog content, and long-form storytelling pieces aligned with brand voice
  • Actively monitor and manage national social channels, including responding to direct messages, comments, and community interactions in a timely and on-brand manner
  • Escalate guest concerns or reputation-related issues appropriately and collaborate with internal stakeholders as needed
  • Ensure all content and engagement adhere to Good Earth’s visual and brand standards
  • Proactively suggest content ideas, trends, and opportunities that support brand growth

Digital Channel Optimization & Reporting

  • Track and report on social media performance metrics
  • Build and maintain a reporting framework to assess content effectiveness
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve engagement and reach
  • Collaborate with agency partners to ensure paid and organic efforts are aligned
  • Support boosting strategies and ensure performance insights inform future content

Local Store Marketing Support (LSM)

  • Develop templates and tools to support franchisees in executing local marketing initiatives
  • Assist with creation of signage, postcards, email templates, and promotional assets
  • Support local event marketing initiatives in alignment with brand standards
  • Respond to LSM requests in a structured and scalable manner

Campaign & Program Support

  • Support execution of national seasonal campaigns across digital and email channels
  • Assist in coordinating content assets for product launches
  • Assist with website content updates and blog publishing as required
  • Ensure alignment between national campaigns and digital presence
  • Support loyalty, rewards, and promotional communication efforts

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing or social media management
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
  • Experience filming and editing short-form video content
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance tracking
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to execute independently within a defined strategic framework
  • Comfort balancing creativity with structure

Compensation

Annualized salary range of $60,000–$68,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with potential for extension based on business needs.
