We partner with leading contractors (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) to drive measurable growth through strategic, data-driven advertising. Our team is a group of dedicated experts who are passionate about delivering exceptional results for our clients. We foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and collaboration. If you are a results-obsessed leader looking to make a significant impact, you will find a rewarding home with us.
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Paid Advertising Department Manager to lead our digital advertising department. This role is pivotal to our success, overseeing a team of four PPC/FB experts and managing a combined ad spend of over $300,000 per month across Google Ads (Search,) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram). The ideal candidate is a strategic operator who can own outcomes, mentor a team, and ensure the flawless execution of our clients' campaigns. You will be responsible for everything from high-level strategy to the granular details of campaign performance, ensuring every account is optimized for success.
What You’ll Own (Responsibilities)
Leadership & Department Operations
- Manage, coach, and conduct performance reviews for a team of four team memebers, utilizing weekly scorecards, 1:1 meetings, and personalized training plans.
- Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of campaign management, including builds, quality assurance, pacing, reporting, and optimizations.
- Establish and maintain a clear “definition of done” for all tasks, ensuring quality control before any campaign goes live.
Performance & Strategy
- Own the account strategy across Google and Meta platforms. This includes architecting full-funnel strategies, from top-of-funnel video campaigns on YouTube and Meta, to high-intent search and retargeting. You will be responsible for account structure, bidding strategies, creative testing frameworks, and landing page optimization.
- Implement and maintain a disciplined weekly optimization cadence to drive continuous improvement.
- Focus on improving lead quality, cost per quotable lead (CPQL), and lead volume consistency through rigorous testing and analysis.
- Oversee all aspects of budget management, including pacing and forecasting, to prevent any end-of-month surprises.
Measurement & Reporting
- Ensure the integrity of our tracking and attribution, including pixels, CAPI, GA4, GCLID, and offline conversion tracking.
- Produce executive-level reports that provide clear insights, actionable recommendations, and support strategic decision-making.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve performance issues, whether they stem from tracking, traffic, conversion rates, offers, or creative.
Client Communication
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, capable of communicating performance and strategy with C-level clarity.
- Proactively communicate risks, strategic pivots, and priorities to both internal and external stakeholders.
Ideal Background
We are looking for a proven leader who has a track record of success in managing large-scale paid advertising campaigns. The ideal candidate is not just a skilled tactician but also a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and communication skills. You should be a data-driven decision-maker who is passionate about building and mentoring high-performing teams. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and who is committed to driving measurable results.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads at a professional level.
- 2+ years of direct team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing a monthly ad spend of $150,000+ (ideally $300,000+) across multiple accounts.
- Expert-level command of:
- Google Ads (Search, PMax, YouTube; conversion-based bidding)
- Meta Ads (Advanced creative testing frameworks, lead generation, conversion campaigns, CAPI, and full-funnel attribution)
- Tracking and attribution (GA4, GTM, pixels, CAPI, offline conversions)
- Proven ability to create and enforce SOPs and manage a department with a high degree of accountability.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in the contractor/home services industry (e.g., roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, remodeling).
- A proven track record of improving lead quality, not just lowering CPL.
- Familiarity with CallRail (or similar), CRM integrations, and offline conversion uploads.
What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)
- A well-defined department cadence is established, including weekly pacing, QA, reporting, and test plans.
- A reduction in reactive fire-fighting and a decrease in unexplained performance swings.
- Clear performance scorecards are in place for each account and team member.
- A tangible improvement in lead quality and consistency is achieved.
Tools We Use
- Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, GA4, GTM, TapClicks and various call tracking/CRM platforms depending on the client.
Engagement & Compensation
- Type: Long-term, ongoing contract
