The Role

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of eCommerce builds the strategies and budgets to deliver on the eComm goals of the company by working cross-functionally to drive profitable performance. By blending sales, marketing, technology, and media management expertise to develop a plan that delivers a superior brand and shopping experience for customers. The Director ensures their tactical efforts align with the strategy and deliver the business goals of building brand awareness and driving eCommerce performance.

You Will

  • The Director of eCommerce oversees and drives the shopsmythe.com business by developing and executing a comprehensive e-commerce strategy aligned with SMYTHE’s growth objectives
  • Develop and execute a digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, Paid Social, email and SMS marketing to drive traffic and sales through effective digital initiatives.
  • In partnership with Marketing, create and implement comprehensive market strategies, including funnel strategies to drive customer acquisition, improve retention and grow CLTV
  • Optimize the user experience by implementing best practices in UX/UI design, navigation, site content and mobile optimization to ensure strong conversion and achievement of goals
  • Utilize analytics and data-driven insights to continuously optimize e-commerce performance, including site speed, conversion rates, and average order value.
  • Leverage Digital Marketing KPIs to ensure traffic and growth targets are achieved
  • In partnership with various departments, oversee e-commerce operations, including order fulfillment, and customer service, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
  • Manage relationships with vendors (including digital agencies & technology providers), leveraging data and analytics to drive decision-making and optimize performance.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions to enhance SMYTHE’s e-commerce capabilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of direct reports, as well as external support and freelance resources
  • Set clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback, and support direct reports in their professional growth and development
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and accountability

You Have

  • 7-10 years of experience strategically growing e-commerce channel with leadership progression
  • High level of proficiency with google analytics and various other analytic tools
  • Experience with Shopify
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making and optimize performance
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and a deep understanding of customer behaviour
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
