Position Summary

Otsuka is on the lookout for a dynamic and strategic leader to fill the role of Director, Neuroscience Pipeline & Established Brand Marketing. This critical position will play a key role in our U.S. commercialization initiatives, ensuring that our pipeline assets are effectively positioned for long-term triumph. The focus will be on comprehensive market assessments, in-depth competitive analysis, and the formulation of innovative brand strategies. Collaboration with global teams, R&D, and commercial divisions will be essential in driving evidence generation and pre-launch planning. Additionally, this role will influence portfolio planning and business development evaluations, enabling Otsuka to make informed, data-driven investment choices for our pipeline assets.

Moreover, you will lead the strategic marketing initiatives for our established Neuroscience brands to enhance their performance and maximize lifecycle value. This includes proactive planning to navigate transitions and mitigate revenue erosion with targeted growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support U.S. market assessments for Neuroscience pipeline assets, focusing on epidemiology, patient segmentation, unmet needs, and pricing/reimbursement landscape evaluation.
  • Develop brand strategies for pipeline programs, including target product profiles (TPPs), value propositions, brand narratives, and differentiation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Global and R&D teams to shape evidence-generation plans that fulfill clinical, real-world, and HEOR data requirements to support future U.S. commercialization efforts.
  • Assist in pre-launch planning, including patient journey mapping, initial customer insights, access strategy considerations, and stakeholder engagement planning.
  • Drive strategic marketing and lifecycle management for established Neuroscience brands, focusing on proactive LOE planning to sustain value, enhance performance, and minimize revenue erosion.
  • Work with Business Development to evaluate external opportunities and contribute to due diligence, forecasting, and scenario modeling for potential assets or partnerships.
  • Contribute to enterprise portfolio planning, ensuring investment decisions reflect market potential, risk assessment, and corporate alignment.
  • Develop and refine U.S. commercial forecasts for pipeline assets in collaboration with analytics and finance teams.
  • Advocate data-driven decision-making to optimize portfolio value, identify risks and opportunities, and shape long-term strategies in the Neuroscience therapeutic area.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% based on business needs.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

  • Top-tier MBA/Ph.D in Biology, Life Sciences, or Medicine is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting industries, with a minimum of two diverse cross-functional roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading and aligning integrated product strategies.
  • Experience in U.S. market, launches, and product lifecycle stages is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in established brand marketing and LOE planning.
  • Strong ability to interpret pre-clinical and clinical scientific data and identify implications for our programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in neurology, neurodegeneration, and/or neuropsychology is a plus.
  • Experience in market forecasting, competitive analysis, and financial modeling is essential.
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical R&D process, including clinical trial design and evidence generation concepts.
  • Cross-functional leadership capabilities with a collaborative spirit.
  • Analytical mindset, interpreting data to develop strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in a matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities and initiatives.

The salary range for this position is $186,489.00 - $278,875.00, plus incentive opportunities. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and internal comparisons. This information is provided in compliance with state and local laws.
