The E-Commerce Liquidation & Marketplace Manager is a high-impact role responsible for the strategy and execution of converting discontinued and excess inventory into cash primarily through ecommerce channels in a disciplined, data-driven manner. This position owns the end-to-end digital liquidation process once products exit the full-price assortment, balancing speed of cash recovery, margin protection, channel performance, and operational efficiency.

The role serves as the central point of accountability for ecommerce liquidation outcomes and works cross-functionally with merchandising, inventory, marketing, operations, logistics, finance, and customer-facing teams to ensure discontinued inventory is monetized strategically across online platforms without disrupting core business productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Own the ecommerce liquidation strategy and execution for all inventory designated as Discontinued, from status change through final online sell-through

  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies to drive sell-through while protecting recovery value and brand positioning
  • Prioritize liquidation efforts based on inventory volume, age, value, channel fit, and recovery targets
  • Monitor listing performance, sell-through rates, conversion, and inventory aging; adjust strategy based on data insights
  • Partner with marketing and channel teams to support promotional initiatives related to discontinued inventory
  • Coordinate with inventory and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory feeds and smooth fulfillment for liquidation channels
  • Monitor and report on key ecommerce liquidation KPIs including recovery percentage, time-to-cash, sell-through velocity, and channel ROI
  • Identify marketplace performance issues, listing suppression risks, or operational bottlenecks and recommend corrective action
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders regarding ecommerce liquidation plans, execution status, and results
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to ecommerce liquidation workflows, listing standards, pricing governance, and reporting

Requirements

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports company-wide vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field such as Business, Ecommerce, Marketing, Operations, or Analytics
  • 3–5 years of experience in ecommerce operations, marketplace management, digital merchandising, or inventory disposition through online channels

  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations
  • Effective communicator able to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple liquidation initiatives and listings concurrently
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
