Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical SEO Specialist in Houston, TX

Overview

In this role, you will maintain and improve the technical health of enterprise websites by running audits, coordinating deployments with IT, and enforcing SEO best practices in Sitecore.

The candidate will partner with developers, content, and marketing to lift search performance, crawl efficiency, and user experience. The primary focus is to sustain technical SEO health through audits, implementation, and proactive monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Optimization

Run crawl audits, fix indexing, canonicalization, and rendering

Identify root causes, prioritize fixes, and work with IT on remediation

Manage XML sitemaps for optimal crawlability

Resolve duplicate, orphaned, and thin obituary content to improve index quality

Research bugs and recommend optimizations

Monitor/optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS)

Implementation & QA

Safeguard SEO integrity during releases and production pushes

Help write dev stories; collaborate directly with engineers

Test in lower environments; validate in production

Execute and QA Sitecore/CMS template updates

Verify metadata, schema, hreflang, redirects, and internal links

Project Management

Maintain an SEO backlog within sprints

Track tickets, dependencies, and change requests

Log updates for governance and audit history

Analytics & Tools

Use Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Bing

Webmaster Tools

Provide weekly and monthly site health summaries

Flag anomalies in crawl/index patterns and escalate

Training & Support

Create SEO playbooks, checklists, and documentation

Advise on location-level updates and new template launches

Support test-and-learn initiatives to enhance local and national visibility

Requirements

5+ years of experience in technical SEO with multi-language and multi-location websites

Experience working with large-scale website(s) with at least 100K URLs

Experience with CMS platforms (Sitecore preferred) and version-controlled deployments

Proficiency with SEO and web analytics tools such as SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and Screaming Frog

Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript rendering, structured data, and page performance metrics

Strong project management and documentation skills; Experience working within Agile or sprint-based workflows preferred

Excellent attention to detail and ability to collaborate across IT, content, and marketing functions

Success Measures

Improved crawl efficiency and index coverage

Increased Core Web Vitals performance across templates

Reduced thin or duplicate content across obituary and location pages

Timely and accurate SEO implementation during IT deployments

High-quality documentation supporting scalability and governance

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range.

Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.

This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
