The Cat Digital L.E.A.D Program is a 12-month onboarding program to build your Caterpillar, Cat Digital, and technical skills. As a Software Engineer in Cat Digital, you will work on innovative projects and collaborate with talented professionals. Cat Digital is the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., leveraging the latest technologies to develop industry-leading digital solutions for our customers and dealers. With over 1.5 million connected assets worldwide, our teams use data, technology, analytics, telematics, and AI to help build a sustainable world. About the Role As a Software Engineering Professional, you will design, develop, and deploy Caterpillars digital platform. You will manage your work and coordinate with team members to ensure successful project completion. Your role will include building a world-class platform supporting various digital applications, including new programs and maintenance of mobile, web, and cloud systems. What You Will Do You will join a diverse project team and have networking opportunities across Caterpillar. You will design customer-centric digital experiences, including product development, mobile and service apps, eCommerce, and digital marketing. Technologies used include Java, JavaScript, Figma, SpringBoot, React, NextJS, Typescript, API authorization, AWS/Azure, among others. What You Will Have - Skills and Experiences Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions using appropriate tools and techniques. Effective Communications: Ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas and information effectively. Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and ability to produce software products aligned with requirements. Software Development Life Cycle: Understanding of structured methodologies for managing software projects. Software Integration Engineering: Ability to design and maintain interfaces between platforms and software packages. Software Product Design/Architecture: Ability to translate market requirements into software designs. Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of software products for design and configuration. Software Product Testing: Ability to design and execute testing strategies to ensure quality. Top Candidates May Have: Participation in a Caterpillar student program Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or related field Passion for technology and growth in software engineering Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills Commitment to high-quality work and continuous improvement Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 Leadership experience Previous technical work demonstrating aptitude Additional Information Locations: Chicago, Peoria Illinois; limited in Dallas, Texas Relocation may be available based on qualifications Salary Range: $87,480 - $142,200 Benefits include health, retirement, paid time off, and more, subject to eligibility.
