As an eCommerce Specialist, you will be a key member of Nestlé Canada’s eCommerce Excellence team, helping accelerate our ambitions in digital retail. You will own Digital Shelf Merchandising across major eRetailers, build new capabilities that advance our eCommerce maturity, and act as a cross‑functional expert supporting Marketing, Sales, IT, and external partners.

A day in the life of an eCommerce Specialist
Lead Digital Shelf & eContent Merchandising
- Manage all listing, updating, and optimization of the gold standard Digital Shelf across key eRetailers.
- Develop and enhance Digital Shelf strategy by providing guidance and insights to Marketing and Sales.
- Lead end to end eContent workflows—including imagery, basic & enhanced content—using PXM platforms (e.g., Salsify).
- Maintain retailer compliance and publishing accuracy while optimizing content performance.
- Build strong relationships with key eRetailers (Walmart, Costco, Instacart, etc.) to manage updates and strategic needs.
- Partner with internal teams and agencies to execute eContent processes seamlessly.
- Lead and support ratings & reviews strategy.
- Produce regular performance reports and insights.
Build New eCommerce Capabilities
- Track retailer & consumer trends and bring leading edge capabilities to the business.
- Build strong external networks with industry experts, agencies, and retailer partners.
- Support test and learn experimentation to advance eCommerce Excellence objectives.
- Translate winning practices from pilots into scalable internal playbooks and training.
- Conduct ongoing training to uplift eBusiness knowledge across teams.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Digital, Media, Business Analytics, Creative, Sales, Insights, IT, and NiM partners.
- Collaborate with eRetailers, platform partners, media agencies, and content vendors.
- Serve as a credible eCommerce expert supporting multiple business units.
Role Requirements
- BA or MBA in Business.
- 2+ years of experience in eCommerce (required).
- Experience in search, content marketing, Sales, or brand roles is a strong asset.
- Hands on experience with Salsify (preferred) or other PIM/DAM tools.
- Minimum 2+ years working with eCommerce content for Walmart, Costco, Instacart, or other major eRetailers.
- Knowledge of Canadian eCommerce content best practices (Amazon, Walmart, Loblaws, etc.).
- Experience with NiQ/Nielsen or similar market data tools preferred.
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring flawless accuracy in digital shelf execution, content publishing, data inputs, and compliance across eRetailer platforms.
- Strong understanding of Digital Shelf fundamentals and eCommerce merchandising.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity with agility and a problem solving mindset.
- Strong communication: able to simplify complex concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Systems thinker with strong data and content management capability.
- Business acumen and strong relationship building ability across local, regional, and global teams.
- Deep interest in new technologies, emerging eRetailer capabilities, and digital trends.
