About the team and the role
As the Product Manager for Fashion, you will lead one of the company’s most important verticals. Your work will change how buyers and sellers connect through smooth, inspiring experiences powered by modern technology. Fashion is one of eBay’s most promising categories on the Global Focus Category team, and this role is central to building the future of fashion e-commerce.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic product manager who can navigate a fast-paced, ambiguous environment to promote innovation in buyer and seller journeys. You will deliver innovative solutions that modernize fashion discovery, improve selling tools, and elevate memorable experiences throughout the eBay platform. You will collaborate closely with category business leaders, engineering, product development, marketing, and global operations teams. Specifically, you will drive initiatives to simplify how fashion customers shop for items that meet their criteria and create personalized experiences that provide recommendations based on their preferences.
What you will accomplish
- Build significant customer influence within a key category. We see fashion as more than clothing or shopping — it is the highest form of self-expression. In this role, you will help guide a vision to empower every eBay fashion customer to develop bold, personal styles for every moment in their lives.
- You will use AI and automation to build the most personalized shopping experience on eBay. This will help our amazing customers discover the vast fashion inventory on eBay.
- Drive the full product lifecycle for multiple features or a major product initiative, from initial discovery and opportunity sizing to launch, iteration, and post-launch analysis.
- Lead cross-functional execution. Build trust and alignment across Engineering, Design, Data Science, Research, Marketing, Trust, Analytics and Category teams; break down silos, set clear priorities, and drive shared accountability through transparent decision-making.
- Define key success metrics, leverage data and analytics to quantify customer problems, size opportunities, and ultimately measure the impact of your work on organizational goals.
- Elevate end-to-end user experience. Champion a customer-first approach across the product lifecycle to deliver high-quality, relevant, and intuitive fashion experiences that help sellers convert faster and buyers find and receive exactly what they expect.
What you will bring
The right candidate is obsessed with the customer and passionate about eBay. They are driven to inspire change and innovate. They are passionate about the Fashion intersection between luxury watches, handbags, and sneakers. They have deep knowledge of preloved fashion, streetwear, and branded values. You will also meet the following criteria:
- 5+ years of product management or related strategy experience, with e-commerce, AI-enabled/social/live commerce experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ambiguity Management: Outstanding ability to excel in an ambiguous, 0-1 environment, distilling sophisticated, unclear problems into a clear product vision and actionable roadmap.
- Prioritization and Tradeoffs: Proven skill in analyzing options, weighing compromises (short-term vs. long-term), and suggesting a course of action, even when data is incomplete.
- Influence & Communication: Masters written and verbal communication, adapting your message to impact both execution teams and executive leadership. Ability to lead and encourage without direct authority.
- AI Fluency: Ability to identify high-impact AI opportunities, translate customer problems into clear AI product requirements with measurable business impact (balancing quality, cost, latency, and risk).
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proven ability to use quantitative and qualitative insights to develop compelling arguments, identify required data, and assess product performance.
