Role Overview

Our Toronto office is currently seeking a Manager, Marketing & Communications in our Marketing & Business Development.

The Manager, Marketing & Communications plays a central role in elevating the firm's profile across Canada and beyond.

This position leads the development and execution of integrated communications campaigns that support the visibility, reputation, and business objectives of our practice and industry groups.

The role blends strategic planning, content development, digital marketing, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure our thought leadership reaches the audiences that matter most.

The successful candidate will be responsible for

Strategic Communications & Campaign Development

  • Developing integrated communications campaigns that advance practice and industry group priorities, including thought leadership, market positioning, and profile building initiatives.
  • Collaborating with partners and internal teams to identify timely topics, emerging issues, and opportunities aligned with client and market needs.
  • Creating and managing content calendars that support consistent, strategic activation across channels.
  • Overseeing the development of campaign assets including articles, social posts, web content, newsletters, videos, and other digital materials.
  • Supporting the development of high-quality content that reflects the firm's voice, expertise, and brand standards, including writing and editing support where appropriate.
  • Ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal, regulatory, and brand guidelines.

Digital Marketing & Channel Optimization

  • Enhancing and expanding the firm's digital presence across owned and social channels, including the website, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Leveraging digital marketing tools and analytics to optimize reach, engagement, and performance.
  • Implementing best practices in SEO, social media, and email marketing to amplify the visibility of firm content.
  • Monitoring trends in digital communications and recommend new approaches, technologies, and tactics.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Working closely with business development, marketing, and creative colleagues to deliver cohesive, high impact campaigns.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Providing guidance and support to internal contributors including lawyers and subject matter experts.

Market Awareness & Thought Leadership

  • Staying connected to Canadian and global business issues to inform content strategy and ensure relevance.
  • Identifying opportunities for the firm to comment on emerging trends and position itself as a trusted voice in the market.
  • Supporting media related initiatives in partnership with external PR resources as needed.

The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:

  • 5-8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital strategy, ideally within professional services or a complex B2B environment.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive content.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools (e.g., CMS platforms, social media management tools, analytics dashboards, email marketing systems).
  • Proven ability to manage campaigns end‑to‑end from concept to execution.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and navigating a partnership‑based environment.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian business landscape and interest in global economic and industry trends.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email marketing technology (Concep or similar) and website CMS; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $125,000
