Black Bow Gift Co. is a premium Canadian gifting company known for elevated presentation, curated quality, and seamless execution. As we continue to grow, we are strengthening the technical foundation of our Shopify site and organic search performance.

We are seeking a hands-on Technical SEO & Shopify Support Specialist to support ongoing SEO improvements and website health initiatives.

This is an execution-focused contract role. Strategy, direction, and priorities will be provided by our marketing strategist. Your role is to implement technical improvements accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

Hours may range from approximately 7.5 hours per week up to 37.5 hours, depending on skill set, availability, and project needs.

Work Structure & Availability

Must be available for consultations and communication during standard business hours as needed (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm AST) Not all work must be completed during operational hours; however, deadlines must be met consistently. Work and task management will be handled through Basecamp. Timely updates and deliverable tracking and accountability are required. This is a contractor position. You must provide your own computer, required software, and reliable high-speed internet connection.

Responsibilities

Implement SEO recommendations from SEMrush to improve Organic search visibility, Website health score and Indexing and crawlability Work directly within Shopify theme files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Implement and maintain Google Schema (Structured Data) Resolve technical issues identified in Google Search Console Support GA4 tracking and monitoring Assist with backlink cleanup and maintenance Execute structured technical updates based on provided priorities Flag technical concerns or improvement opportunities

This role does not involve owning SEO strategy or setting marketing direction but would be seen as a greater asset if had the ability to contribute and identify opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Working understanding of SEO best practices Hands-on experience with Shopify theme customization Comfortable editing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience implementing structured data (Schema) Experience using Google Search Console Working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4 preferred) Experience using SEMrush or comparable SEO software (required) Strong attention to detail and ability to execute accurately

Confidentiality & Professional Standards

This role will involve access to internal systems and business information. The selected contractor will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement covering client information, vendor relationships, pricing, marketing strategy, analytics data, and proprietary processes.

All work created during the contract period will remain the property of Black Bow Gift Co.

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
