SEO Analyst
BackcountryAs an SEO Content Specialist, you’ll be responsible for a portion of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Program to increase organic search traffic across our websites Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, and Steep and Cheap. One day you may be working with software engineers, product managers, or designers within Agile Scrum and Kanban teams, and the next day you may be working with writers, editors, and content strategists. No matter the day, your research, recommendations, influence, guidance, and partnership will help shape the Backcountry website landscape. We put a huge emphasis on reusable strategies across different areas of our site to ensure we create value at multiple customer touchpoints. Backcountry has accepted SEO as a strategic channel and we have built the program as equal thought leaders from project inception to delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify new opportunities for organic traffic growth on multiple page types from Blog to Product page
Work with video, short form, long form and infographic content
Ensure content strategy encompasses and aids as many possible page types
Push A/B tests to understand customer benefit behind SEO recommendations
Represent the team to a variety of internal stakeholders
Work closely with software engineers and their code prior to its release
Provide feedback, guidance, and requirements for projects across our digital properties
Partner with SEO consultant on bigger content initiatives
Help teach and train the broader organization on SEO best practices
Build dashboards, metrics, and reports to accurately represent results
Conduct tests and research to prove or disprove hypotheses related to SEO
Proactively stay at the forefront of the SEO industry and its constant changes through personal development, networking, and training
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
[Required] 3+ years of experience in e-commerce or related websites
[Required] 2+ years of experience in building and executing an SEO strategy at enterprise scale
Proven track record of successful organic search optimization implementation for B2C brand
A demonstrated understanding in front-end web technology including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
SEO-related content skills include keyword research, link building strategy, on-page optimization, understanding foundational technical SEO topics (examples being canonical tags, pagination) server- vs. client-side rendering, building content strategy that marries multiple page types into overall strategy
Strong proficiency Sharepoint, Confluence, and JIRA
Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban software development principles
Experience in Botify, Screaming Frog, STAT, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and Core Web Vitals
Experience with Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or related platform
