Programmer – Data Reporting (R Developer / Quantitative Analyst)

📍 Location: Jackson, Mississippi (Onsite – No Remote Option)

📅 Duration: 2+ Year Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Programmer – Data Reporting to support a long-term initiative focused on federal reporting compliance and modernization of legacy statistical reporting processes.

This role is ideal for a hands-on R Programmer / Quantitative Analyst who thrives in rebuilding and validating statistical models using current industry standards. The selected candidate will work as an individual contributor, responsible for researching, developing, documenting, validating, and maintaining robust statistical reporting models.

⚠️ This position requires onsite presence. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rewrite and modernize legacy coding and reporting processes using current industry best practices
  • Research, develop, validate, and maintain statistical reporting models in R
  • Ensure compliance with federal reporting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and document business rules, methodologies, and revision history
  • Perform data validation, quality assurance, and audit trail development
  • Conduct development, back testing, deployment, and UAT activities
  • Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to ensure successful model implementation
  • Deliver clear documentation and presentations to support model governance and long-term maintenance
  • Implement version control and reproducibility best practices

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Expertise (5+ Years Required)

  • Advanced R programming (statistical modeling, scripting, data manipulation, reproducible reporting)
  • R Studio
  • Statistical model development and validation
  • SQL programming and database querying
  • SQL Manager
  • R development/programming
  • Development, back testing, deployment, and UAT
  • Delivering high-quality technical documentation

Additional Experience

  • ADABAS/Natural (1+ year)
  • Agile methodology (1+ year)
  • Power BI (1+ year)
  • Windows 7 & Windows 10 environments
  • Knowledge of federal reporting standards and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to rewrite legacy code using modern industry standards
  • Strong quantitative research and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in an individual contributor role
  • Strong communication skills (ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders)
  • Experience with version control, structured model governance, and reproducibility practices
