About the Role

We're looking for a SEO Content Writer who understands the main principles of writing for the web, such as writing enticing copy, producing gripping headlines that maximize click-through-rates, and optimizing content for specific keywords. This role includes working with the client, Account Manager, Digital Brand Manager, Creative Director, and Content Manager to perform keyword research for both web content and print marketing materials. This includes understanding each of our clients unique needs and objectives, and the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice.

This role is specifically designed for someone who enjoys working on a variety of projects in a serious, but fun start-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Use CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Drupal, and others to develop and post content for our website and for our clients
• Produce high-quality written content on a timely basis for blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, social media, and print marketing materials
• Work with design team to find and insert photos and other graphics into blog articles, social media posts, and print materials that meet client's branding objectives
• Create content that engages readers, develops trust, and pushes readers along the buying process
• Understand objectives of clients and their target market, what types of content their audience is looking for, and how to entice readers to contact
• Collaborate with design team, management, and clients in order to meet deadlines
• Speak directly with clients to review content, make any changes, and meet overall branding objectives

Required Skills

• Experience with WordPress, Drupal, and other CMS platforms
• Familiarity with keyword research tools such as Google AdWords, SpyFu, SEMRush, and others
• Complete understanding of SEO best practices, including keyword research, meta descriptions, meta tags, and proper keyword execution in articles and blogs
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign a plus
• Ability to manage time efficiently to multitask and meet strict deadlines
• Adaptability to change direction of a project on a moment's notice
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly motivated and ability to work independently and as part of them
• Ability to take criticism, such as in-depth edits and changes to articles, in order to meet branding objectives of clients
• Understanding paid search, social media strategies, and Google Analytics and AdWords are a plus
• Experience with website design and conversion optimization are a plus
• Strong desire to stay up-to-date with latest technologies, trends, and techniques in rapidly changing environment SEO and content writing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; or
• 2-4 Years experience writing for the web
• Professional Portfolio
• 2-3 Recommendations
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
• Must be within an hour and a half of Jackson, NJ (Can work remote, but may need to come into the office at times)
