Media & E-Commerce Assistant

Job Description, Functions & Responsibilities

The media & E-Commerce Assistant supports daily digital operations, with a primary focus on video editing and website management.

This is an entry-level, trainable position designed for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. This role involves assisting with product listings, writing basic descriptions, organizing website content, and editing video material.

No advanced experience will be required, however, consistency, organization and a willingness to follow policies and systems is essential.

Core Responsibilities

1. Video Editing Support

· Assist in editing long-form video content (YouTube, educational content, etc.)

· Cut shorter clips from existing footage for reuse.

· Export and format videos according to provided guidelines.

· Organize and maintain video files and project folders.

2. Website and product management.

· Upload new products to the website (shopify or similar platform.)

· Write and format clear, accurate product descriptions.

· Apply basic SEO practices (Titles, keywords, tags.)

· Assign products to appropriate categories and collections.

· Maintain consistency across all product listings.

3. Digital Content Organization

· Organize images, videos and product assets.

· Assist with basic image clean up and formatting

· Ensure files are properly named and stored.

· Follow internal systems for content management.

4. General Operational Support

· Assist with ongoing website updates and improvements.

· Follow structured workflows and task lists.

· Complete assigned digital tasks in a timely manner.

· Communicate progress and ask questions when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Basic familiarity with computers and common software.

· Willingness to learn video editing tools (CapCut, Premier, etc.)

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to follow step by step instructions.

· Good organizational habits.

· Reliable and Consistent work ethic.

Preferred (Not required)

· Basic video editing experience.

· Familiarity with Shopify, Wix or similar platforms.

· An interest in history, antiques, fossils or collectibles.

· Basic understanding of SEO or product listings.

Position Details

Position Type: Part Time/Full Time (Flexible.)

Location: (On site/ Hybrid)

Compensation: To be discussed during interview.

Training and Growth

This is a training position. The right candidate will be provided with structure, guidance, and ongoing support. There is opportunity for growth into more advanced roles in video production, website management, and e-commerce operations.
