Position Summary: We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Director of Sales & Marketing to spearhead our sales growth initiatives and enhance our brands across the 13 western states. This strategic leadership role is critical for driving revenue, expanding market share, and cultivating strong relationships within the Food Retail Industry. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, managing key relationships with our sales teams (including a diverse group of End-Users, Re-Seller Dealers, Independent Reps, Grocery Wholesalers, and Direct Sales Reps), and leading this high-performing team to achieve aggressive growth targets, all while upholding our commitment to our end-user customers and our people.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement multi-year sales and marketing strategies aligned with our overall business objectives, focusing on market penetration, revenue and profit growth, and brand visibility in the food retail equipment sector.
- Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of sales and support professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity, emphasizing Expert Knowledge and Reliable Communication within the team and with our partners.
- Sales Network Management: Take charge of managing and growing our reseller group within the network across 13 western states. Develop and maintain strong strategic partnerships ensuring reseller success through effective communication, training, and support programs that leverage our Expert Knowledge.
- Sales Performance: Drive significant sales growth and achieve ambitious targets by identifying new business opportunities, optimizing sales processes, and expanding our customer base through reliable and trustworthy approaches.
- Marketing & Brand Management: Oversee all marketing initiatives to strengthen our brands, ensuring our messaging consistently reflects our values of Quality & Reliability and our Expert Knowledge in the industry. This includes digital marketing, product launches, trade show participation, and creation of compelling sales collateral.
- Market Analysis & Insights: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities. Utilize Expert Knowledge to translate insights into actionable sales and marketing plans.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and ROI with transparency and Reliable Communication.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Operations, Regional Service Providers, and Finance Departments to ensure seamless execution of strategies and superior customer satisfaction, fostering an environment of Trust & Honesty across all departments.
- Business Planning & Reporting: Develop and manage detailed business plans to achieve objectives. Provide reporting and insights on pipeline health, sales performance, and market opportunities to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a Sr. Manager, Director or VP level and a minimum 5 years experience in the Food Retail Market (Grocery Stores, Bakeries, Delis, Meat & Seafood Operations and/or Industrial Food Production).
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving significant revenue growth, particularly within a distribution or reseller network model, demonstrating integrity and a commitment to Trust & Honesty.
- Extensive experience within the food equipment, commercial kitchen, or related B2B industrial sales sectors, displaying Expert Knowledge of the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans across a multi-state region, with a focus on delivering Quality & Reliability.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams, fostering Reliable Communication and a culture of mutual trust.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and people skills, embodying our commitment to Reliable Communication.
- Ability to travel extensively across the 13 western states as required. 10-20% Travel Required.
- Proficiency with CRM software and marketing automation platforms. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and CRM (& AutoQuotes a Plus)!
- P&L Management & Budget Management Expertise
- Ability to work on-site in the Portland, Oregon, Metropolitan area and travel as needed.
