Job Description

The Digital & Social Media Marketing Associate plays a key role in executing day-to-day digital marketing initiatives that expand online presence and deepen audience engagement. This role supports the Digital & Social Media Marketing Lead by creating and publishing content, managing campaigns, and monitoring and engaging audiences across both organic and paid digital channels. The position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who is fluent across digital and social media platforms and is eager to drive measurable engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Digital & Social Media Marketing Lead in building and deploying digital content, copy, and campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Distribute AI-generated meeting notes and action items to relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and follow-through.
  • Manage the trafficking of creative assets from internal creative teams to media agencies, media partners, and social platforms using shared project management tools.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production statuses in project management tools to support smooth campaign execution.
  • Update website content, assets, and copy on a regular basis using the content management system.
  • Implement website content and copy updates to improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
  • Publish blog content and ensure it aligns with broader digital marketing and brand strategies.
  • Leverage and/or build AI tools to scale digital marketing efforts in areas such as social listening, community engagement, and copy and content development.
  • Use AI tools to resize assets, generate initial copy variations for A/B testing, and summarize social sentiment reports.
  • Schedule and deploy social media posts across platforms including LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Create social-first assets that extend brand and product storytelling and resonate with target audiences.
  • Draft compelling social media copy that supports campaigns, brand messaging, and product narratives.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a robust social media content pipeline and editorial calendar.
  • Monitor social media engagement in real time using social listening and management tools.
  • Build and nurture a community of advocates on social media by engaging thoughtfully and consistently.
  • Identify and flag potential issues on social channels, recommending appropriate responses and copy.
  • Analyze comments and engagement to identify trends and themes that can inspire new social content ideas.
  • Monitor social media inboxes and triage incoming messages to appropriate internal teams, including recruiting, government affairs, and business development.
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity to recommend test-and-learn social content and new approaches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure digital and social media activities align with broader marketing and business objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality output.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment, maintaining professionalism and focus.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing within an agency or brand environment.
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience with digital and social media, actively executing campaigns and driving engagement.
  • Proficiency in social media-specific content creation and management across LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Experience working with website content management systems (CMS) to update and publish content.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Sprout Social.
  • Strong understanding of digital campaign operations, including content deployment and asset trafficking.
  • Ability to develop and execute social media campaigns and content strategies that support marketing objectives.
  • Proficient in business communication tools, including Slack and Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different platforms and audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with proven attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
  • Natural curiosity and interest in learning about new technologies and evolving marketing approaches.
  • Comfort working directly “hands on keyboard” in platforms, tools, and dashboards to execute and optimize campaigns.
  • Ability to provide strategic input by evaluating performance and offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Flexibility to travel and work across time zones as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Passion to learn, or familiarity with, the autonomous technology, logistics, or freight industry.
  • Basic knowledge of design tools or the ability to visually communicate new concepts and simple mockups, including through AI-based tools.
  • Experience using AI tools for social listening, community engagement, copy generation, and content development.
  • Experience generating A/B test variations and interpreting performance insights to refine content.
  • Ability to interpret social sentiment and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as creative, recruiting, government affairs, and business development.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role, requiring the ability to work both remotely and in the office as needed, for approximately 32–40 hours per week. The position involves frequent use of digital tools and platforms, including social media management software, website CMS, project management tools, business communication tools such as Slack and Google Suite, and analytics platforms like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Work is typically performed in a modern office and remote environment that emphasizes collaboration, responsiveness, and adaptability to changing priorities. The schedule may occasionally require flexibility to support activities across time zones and to accommodate key campaigns or events.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
