Leo Accounting PMO has an immediate opening for a Principal Finance Transformation Manager. This role supports and directly influences the launch of Amazon Leo products and programs across multiple verticals: satellite manufacturing, ground gateway terminals, and customer terminals.
As a Principal Finance leader, you will operate in ambiguous environments, making sound judgment calls with limited data while identifying strategic projects that extend beyond your direct scope. You'll work closely with partner teams in financial systems/engineering, accounting operations, tax, finance operations, and executive leaders across organizations on new initiatives to provide integrated accounting requirements to the Leo business teams to automate related financial flows.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Influence
Act as a Finance community leader, promoting strong controllership environments and building credible executive relationships that enable confident recommendations.
Execution & Operational Excellence
Define enterprise-wide accounting strategies aligning financial systems with business objectives. Establish governance frameworks ensuring sustainable, auditable solutions. Shape organizational direction by anticipating systemic risks and driving proactive mitigation. Set quality standards and influence design of financial infrastructure, and champion automation through strategic process transformation. Champion Day 1 Culture by fostering urgency, customer obsession, and bias for action while maintaining startup agility at enterprise scale. Identify innovation opportunities driving year-over-year gains focused on long-term growth, scale, and simplification. Promote operational excellence with ability to dive deep on any finance topic.
Communication & Collaboration
Effectively communicate and tailor detailed knowledge to all audiences. Own leadership reviews and status updates, work cross-functionally to identify external risk factors, and foster inclusive environments leveraging diverse perspectives.
Team Development & Finance Leadership
Own team and organizational goals with high judgment on decisions impacting financial, business, operational, or customer outcomes. Identify development program gaps, sponsor Finance-wide professional development, participate actively in hiring, foster inclusion and diversity, and implement solutions bettering the Finance community.
A day in the life
Plan and prioritize daily and near-term activities with strategic focus
Lead weekly team scrum to discuss past/current activities and potential blockers
1:1 with senior leaders to deep dive program risks and influence strategic decisions
1:1 with key business stakeholders to unblock project workstreams and negotiate priorities
Meet with business stakeholders to validate end-to-end processes and accounting use-cases while driving clarity for solution design
Prep for weekly leadership status meetings with executives leaders
Respond to emails, wrap up day, and set upcoming priorities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience
- Experience with process improvement and delivery of financial features
- Experience with complex decision making and problem solving using Lean / Six Sigma techniques
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
