Our client, a leading online retailer, is seeking an experienced Senior E-commerce Platform Manager to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and ongoing optimization of our e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless and engaging customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of e-commerce technologies, a data-driven approach to decision-making, and a proven ability to manage complex projects from conception to launch. You will work closely with engineering, marketing, and product teams to drive innovation and achieve key business objectives.

Responsibilities: Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the e-commerce platform, encompassing website functionality, user experience, and performance. Manage the entire product lifecycle for e-commerce features, from ideation and requirements gathering to development, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements, prioritize development efforts, and ensure timely delivery of platform enhancements. Conduct user research, analyze customer behavior data, and leverage A/B testing to identify opportunities for improving conversion rates and user engagement. Oversee the integration of third-party applications and services (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers, marketing tools) onto the platform. Monitor platform performance, uptime, and security, implementing measures to ensure reliability and scalability. Develop and maintain documentation for platform features, processes, and best practices. Stay abreast of emerging e-commerce trends, technologies, and competitor activities to inform platform strategy. Work closely with marketing and merchandising teams to ensure the platform effectively supports promotional campaigns and product launches. Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to the e-commerce platform. Mentor and guide junior platform managers and product owners. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to platform performance and user experience. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in e-commerce product management or platform management, with a strong focus on digital customer experience. Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling e-commerce platforms and features. Deep understanding of e-commerce technologies, architectures, and best practices. Experience with Agile development methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to interpret user behavior and performance metrics. Excellent understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices for e-commerce websites. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities. Experience managing remote teams and working in a distributed environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with headless commerce architectures is a plus.
