WordJack MediaWordJack Media (www.wordjack.com) is a growing web marketing firm, and we are looking for an SEO Content Writer & Editor to join our team!
This position will start as a part-time (20 hours/week) three-month contract, with the goal to become permanent based on performance. Increased hours (¾ time or full time) may also be an option after the initial contract is completed.
You will be paid a fixed monthly amount, starting at $1,875 CAD per month. Payments will be sent twice a month on the 10th and 25th. All employees receive paid public holidays. Paid sick leave, vacation days, and benefits apply after the three-month trial period.

This might be the job for you if
- You are skilled at research and writing on a wide variety of topics.
- You can manage your time to ensure tasks are completed efficiently while still maintaining high quality standards.
- You read casual emails and text messages multiple times to check for errors before sending them.
- Seeing grammatical errors on the internet makes you cringe.
- You are a good multitasker and have high attention to detail and superb critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- You are self-motivated and can remain productive while working from home with minimal supervision in a high-paced production environment.
- You are comfortable with and eager to learn new tools and systems.
- You want to be part of a thriving small business, working with a team of passionate writers and editors.
Your day-to-day may involve
- Writing various pieces of content such as blogs, landing pages, social media posts, etc., using correct grammar and spelling for multiple clients (in varied industries) and switching between them throughout the day.
- Editing and proofreading of blogs, website text, social media posts, and other content for small businesses in the U.S. and Canada (plumbers, dentists, HVAC companies, home remodelers, etc.) to ensure established SEO standards are met, content is accurate and makes logical sense, and any grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors are fixed while matching an appropriate tone of voice for the client’s brand.
- Proofreading client-supplied text and implementing client edits to post on a website (sometimes being able to turn something that’s very vague or poorly written into well-written content while incorporating the concepts the client has provided and ensuring SEO value and grammatical integrity remain intact).
- Coming up with ideas for social post and blog content that is appropriate to the client’s brand and goals, sometimes with very little direction to work from.
- Communicating effectively and collaborating with teammates to troubleshoot ambiguities.
- Providing constructive feedback about errors to writers and others while being open to feedback from others about your own work.

- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize errors in your own and other people’s work
- Must be able to critique and edit other writers' work to adhere to established standards
