Conversion Rate Optimization Specialist (CRO + Data) - Contract to Hire
UpworkConversion Rate Optimization Specialist
Looking for an experienced CRO specialist to join on a full-time basis.
This is an audit + analysis + Execution Role — you'll come in, assess a website and its conversion funnel, and deliver a structured report with prioritized findings and recommendations.
What the first deliverable looks like
The output is a full CRO audit covering: traffic and channel performance, device-level conversion gaps, funnel drop-off analysis, booking or lead flow friction, homepage and navigation issues, social proof usage, mobile experience, urgency and trust mechanics, and a competitive comparison. Findings need to be tied to revenue impact — not just a list of observations.
Deliverable 2: Executing the plan and getting ROI results.
Skills you need to have
GA4 is required — pulling channel data, analyzing landing page performance, device breakdowns, bounce behavior, and connecting traffic patterns to revenue. Google Tag Manager auditing is part of this too. You should be able to identify tracking gaps and misconfigured tags. Google Ads experience is a plus — being able to look at campaign performance and ROAS alongside organic data.
Beyond the data side, you need to actually know CRO. That means recognizing friction in a booking or purchase flow, understanding what good mobile UX looks like versus what kills conversion, knowing how competitors typically approach the same problems, and being able to prioritize fixes by likely impact.
The final deliverable should be clean, structured, and something that can be handed directly to a client or developer then executing on consistent CRO initiatives. If you've built Looker Studio dashboards or have experience presenting data visually, that's a bonus.
To apply, answer these three questions
Describe a CRO audit you've done. What data sources did you pull from, what was the most important finding, and what changed as a result?
You're looking at a site in GA4 and mobile is 60% of traffic but under 40% of revenue. Walk me through how you'd diagnose why.
What does your typical audit deliverable look like — format, sections, how you prioritize recommendations?
