Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Stone Tile International Inc. is looking for a Director of E-Commerce on a 6-month fixed-term contract to cover a leave. We are also open to fractional leadership candidates who can own the full scope of the role across all workstreams. Celebrating our 34th anniversary, we are North America’s leading fashion house of natural and manufactured tiles, stone, and wood. Stone Tile has over 160 employees and showrooms across major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary.

The ecommerce function is in an exciting growth phase. The incoming leader will step into an established strategy with a defined roadmap, an active team, and strong agency and vendor partnerships already in place. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can maintain momentum, drive execution, and collaborate cross-functionally across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Execution & Business Continuity

  • Maintain execution momentum against the existing ecommerce strategy and roadmap during the contract period.
  • Own the ecommerce P&L, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and revenue targets.
  • Provide regular updates to the President and leadership team on progress, risks, and priorities.
  • Sequence and prioritize workstreams across the ecommerce function, adjusting as needed based on business demands.

Technology & Platform Management

  • Oversee the ecommerce tech stack, including the platform, integrations, and supporting tools.
  • Manage ongoing platform operations, developer backlog, and site performance optimization.
  • Steward in-progress technology initiatives, including ERP integration, digital asset management, and system migrations.
  • Ensure site security, uptime, and digital compliance standards are maintained.

Digital Marketing & Revenue Growth

  • Oversee digital marketing channels, including SEO, paid media, email marketing, and agency partnerships.
  • Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies through performance marketing, conversion optimization, and lifecycle communications.
  • Manage promotional campaigns, site merchandising, and seasonal activations.
  • Own the sample program, including conversion performance and customer experience.

Data, Product & Content Operations

  • Ensure product data quality, completeness, and governance across all digital systems.
  • Oversee product onboarding workflows, catalog management, and content enrichment.
  • Maintain reporting frameworks and KPI dashboards for ecommerce performance.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and support the ecommerce team, including direct and co-managed reports.
  • Manage external agency and vendor relationships across SEO, paid media, development, and digital asset management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, marketing, and customer experience teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support emerging technology adoption and continuous improvement across the function.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Support market expansion initiatives, including new geographic programs and channel development.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with technology providers, agencies, and logistics partners.
  • Explore opportunities that accelerate ecommerce growth and scalability.

Qualifications

  • 8–15+ years of progressive ecommerce leadership experience, ideally in retail, home goods, luxury, or building materials.
  • Proven track record of scaling ecommerce operations and managing platform ecosystems.
  • Strong P&L ownership experience with demonstrated ability to manage budgets and deliver results.
  • Deep knowledge of the ecommerce landscape, including digital marketing, SEO, performance marketing, and CRO.
  • Experience managing ecommerce platforms (Magento/Adobe Commerce preferred) and coordinating with development teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration workflows is a strong asset.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office and gallery-based in Toronto, with occasional travel to exhibitions, events, or client locations.
  • May involve evening or weekend work to support gallery events or campaign launches.
