As our Senior SEO Specialist / Content Writer, you will serve as the strategic lead for our organic search efforts. Beyond writing long-form, authoritative content, you will architect overarching SEO strategies, conduct deep keyword research, and execute on-page optimizations. You will be responsible for structuring content, optimizing metadata, and ensuring all digital assets perform at the highest level across search engines.

This role requires a deep command of Google's evolving algorithms, advanced proficiency with WordPress and Yoast SEO, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal teams to align content with broader high-budget, performance-driven campaigns.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SEO Specialist / Content Writer to join our in-house team in Westlake Village, CA.

In this role, you will be a critical player in building high-performing, conversion-driven legal content that ranks competitively in search engines and aligns seamlessly with our in-house Google Ads team. You will develop SEO-optimized web pages, pillar content, and site architecture that drive measurable growth, revenue, and market leadership for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Content Creation: Write, edit, and optimize high-converting parent/child pages and long-form authoritative content for competitive legal verticals (e.g., personal injury, employment law).
  • Advanced On-Page SEO: Execute comprehensive on-page SEO strategies, including deep keyword research, advanced internal linking structures, and metadata optimization (title tags, meta descriptions, key phrases).
  • Content Structuring: Structure content to maximize both SEO value and readability.
  • Platform Management: Implement and format content directly into WordPress (classic editor) using Yoast SEO. Continuously optimize existing content to improve rankings and conversion rates.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor, analyze, and report on organic performance using Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the internal Google Ads, design, and web development teams to ensure content strategy aligns with overall campaign goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a strong command of grammar, clarity, and persuasive writing while adhering to structured content systems and E-E-A-T principles.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated SEO and technical content writing experience, preferably in legal or medical verticals
  • Technical Skills: Strong hands‑on experience with WordPress (classic editor) and Yoast SEO; deep understanding of on-page SEO and content structure for ranking
  • Writing Excellence: Ability to write long‑form, authoritative, conversion‑focused content; strong command of grammar, clarity, and persuasive writing
  • Tool Proficiency: WordPress, Yoast SEO, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console are highly preferred
  • Process Orientation: Ability to follow structured content systems and execute strategies efficiently in a fast‑paced environment

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must work fully on‑site at our Westlake Village, CA office (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Cannot be self‑employed, freelance, or manage personal SEO clients while employed at Legal Leads Group.
