Amazon Ads is seeking an exceptional Principal Technical Program Manager to drive strategic technical initiatives across our advertising campaign creation technology platform. This role will lead complex, cross-organizational programs that directly impact how millions of advertisers reach customers globally through Amazon's advertising solutions including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Amazon DSP, and emerging ad technologies. The role requires influencing agentic campaign experience strategic direction across multiple VP-level organizations within Ads, balancing near-term delivery with long-term agentic evolution.
As a Principal TPM, you will own the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale technical programs that span multiple engineering teams, product organizations, and business stakeholders. You'll work at the intersection of advertising technology, machine learning, and distributed systems to solve ambiguous problems that shape the future of digital advertising.
Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end program management for strategic advertising technology initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations
Drive technical strategy and roadmap alignment across engineering, product, science, and business teams
Lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges in areas such as ad serving, campaign management, measurement, and optimization
Establish program governance, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility and accountability at the VP level
Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks across large-scale distributed systems serving billions of ad requests daily
Partner with engineering leaders to influence architecture decisions and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across Amazon Ads, AWS, and Retail organizations
Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and best practices
Mentor and develop other TPMs across the organization
Represent Amazon Ads technical programs in executive-level reviews and planning sessions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
