Position: Sr Technical SEO Specialist (REMOTE)

Job Purpose

The Technical SEO Specialist is responsible for technical SEO audits, recommendations and hands-on implementation along with on-page SEO, internal linking, and site buildouts for Word Press sites across the company's site network.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Data Studio).
  • Build and maintain automated SEO reports in Google Analytics and Data Studio.
  • Produce weekly & monthly reports on both technical SEO improvements and keyword reports.
  • Technical SEO
  • Using tools such as Screaming Frog, ahrefs, and SEMrush to crawl websites, understand the results, make recommendations on improvements, and implement/fix. Examples include:
  • Crawling: XML/HTML sitemaps, mobile bot crawl behavior.
  • Mobile:

Core Web Vitals research & implementation.

  • Structured data:

Schema markup, Microdata & JSON-LD, Rich Snippets.

  • Site structure: internal linking, URL structure, taxonomy, re-direct chains.
  • On-Page SEO
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking, and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
  • Optimize pages for Featured Snippets supporting structured data and other SEO best practices to qualify for instant answers or PAA.
  • Ensure proper SEO best practices and formatting for all pages. This includes: H1, Headers, SEO Title, Meta Description, and varied anchor text of outgoing/incoming internal links.

Qualifications: The Technical SEO Specialist must have at least two years of experience in Technical SEO, or performance-based marketing experience, and a college degree. The position is remote.

Qualifications include

  • Two- or four-year college degree.
  • At least two years of SEO / Performance Marketing experience.
  • Understanding of Website Architecture, content, linking, and other factors to improve SEO.
  • Comfortable balancing shifting priorities while under deadline while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Key skills:

Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, Reporting, keyword research, data analysis.

  • Requires strong familiarity with:

Google Analytics, Google Search Console, keyword and link research tools (e.g., SEMrush, ahrefs, Screaming Frog) and Word Press.
