Work Schedule: Part-time | Flexible hours (Any time with approval) - upto 20 hours per week

Job Overview

TDEC’s Division of Remediation is seeking a skilled Surveyor (Digital Services Tech) for a nine-month remote contract with potential extension. This role focuses on reviewing legal property descriptions and accurately drafting restricted boundaries using CAD or GIS. No field work is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret legal descriptions in Notice of Land Use Restriction deed notices.
• Draw restricted property boundaries using CAD or GIS software.
• Create digital deliverables such as shapefiles or CAD files.
• Provide written explanations when legal descriptions cannot be accurately mapped.
• Recommend cost-effective solutions to resolve boundary or description challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional surveying experience, including drafting legal property descriptions.
• Strong proficiency in CAD and/or GIS software.
• Must have a personal computer with licensed CAD/GIS software capable of producing shapefiles or CAD files.
• Strong understanding of surveying methods and boundary analysis.
• Proven ability to interpret complex legal descriptions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
