Senior Manager Marketing, Online Marketing
Sam's ClubPosition Overview
We’re looking for a hands‐on leader to own the end‑to‑end email program for Sam’s Club—from strategy through execution. You will translate business priorities into high impact member emails by designing expressive, clickable hero/banner systems, scaling personalization across lifecycle journeys, and partnering with cross-functional teams and technical vendors to build, ship, and optimize campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit the entire email program—from strategy and creative systems (including the primary hero/banner) to templates, personalization, triggered journeys, QA, and deliverability—while establishing a 12‑month growth roadmap with quarterly targets.
- Define a clear message architecture that turns business objectives into compelling subject lines, preheaders, and modular content hierarchies.
- Enhance creative execution by refreshing the hero/banner system (responsive, dark‑mode friendly, accessible), establishing a test & learn cadence, and implementing pre‑send QA checklists.
- Operationalize dynamic personalization and build or enhance triggered journeys (e.g., welcome, cart abandon, post‑purchase) using ESP templating and data feeds.
- Deliver predictable growth by meeting revenue targets, optimizing key KPIs (CTOR, conversion, deliverability), publishing actionable dashboards, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Lead and mentor a high‑performing team, collaborate with cross‑functional partners, and work with vendors to ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and high‑quality delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in email and owned channels with proven end‑to‑end program management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Behavioral Science, or a related field with 3 years of digital media experience, or 6 years of digital media experience.
- Proven ability to transform business objectives into high‑impact emails—from crafting compelling subject lines and banners to delivering scannable content and crisp CTAs.
- Technical proficiency in HTML/CSS/MJML and templating languages (e.g., Liquid/Handlebars) for dynamic personalization.
- Strong understanding of email deliverability, journey logic, and performance measurement using relevant KPIs.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience mentoring teams and aligning senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing digital media vendors, including contract negotiation and online display advertising.
- Supervisory experience and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Benefits & Perks
- Compensation: Annual salary range of $90,000.00 - $180,000.00, plus performance‑based bonuses and Regional Pay Zone adjustments.
- Health Benefits: Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
- Financial Benefits: 401(k), stock purchase options, and company‑paid life insurance.
- Paid Time Off: PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave, with accruals meeting or exceeding legal requirements.
- Other Benefits: Short‑term and long‑term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and the Live Better U education benefit program with tuition, books, and fees fully covered by Walmart.
Primary Location: 2101 Se Simple Savings Dr, Bentonville, AR 72712-4304, United States of America.
