Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Expanse Transformation provides strategic direction and execution-focused leadership for the implementation, optimization, and enhancement of clinical content and features within the Meditech Expanse platform. Reporting to the Vice President, Expanse Clinical Content, this role contributes to the creation of the enterprise clinical product strategy for Expanse and then translates that strategy into product enhancements that measurably improve the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across HCA Healthcare. The AVP serves as a key leader for the Enterprise Order Set strategy, including overseeing implementation best practices, prioritization of build, and optimization activities to meet the needs of clinical teams enterprise wide.

Core Responsibilities

• Drives execution of enhancement initiatives within the Expanse platform, including but not limited to order sets, documentation templates, clinical decision support, and data visualization tools
• Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement of the Expanse platform to support efficient clinical workflow and hospital operations, patient safety, and clinician satisfaction
• Leads solution design for enhancement work for prioritized Expanse optimization efforts, utilizing evidence-based practice, clinical informatics science, and human factors principles
• Partner with Expanse program colleagues to develop strategies for implementation of Expanse clinical content, features, and functions that maximize potential for successful adoption and minimize operational disruption.
• Develops outcome metrics (OKRs, KPIs) for optimization work to demonstrate delivery of value to the organization
• Collaborate closely with Process Engineering, Clinical Informatics, Expanse Product, ITG, DT&I, Meditech, and vendor teams to develop a multi-year Expanse clinical product roadmap to guide product work
• Provide enterprise leadership for implementation, optimization, and enhancement of the Enterprise Standard Order Set catalog
• Establishes and maintains best practices for order set implementation and adoption across facilities
• Define requirements for order set design, structure, and content in partnership with Clinical Informatics and key stakeholders
• Manage assigned team members and resources to meet scope, timeline, and budget expectations
• Provides expertise and consultation to facilities, Division, and Corporate departments

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree – Required
• Master's degree – Preferred
• Experience in implementing and optimizing healthcare IT systems – Required
• 7+ years of experience in healthcare leadership – Required
