Coordinator, Social Content and Storytelling
Hometown Soccer HoldingsHometown Soccer Holdings (HSH) is building a portfolio of locally rooted MLS NEXT Pro clubs, each deeply embedded in its community and built to create lasting connections with fans. This role sits with a new HSH club launching in Middlesex County, New Jersey as the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of New York City FC. Operating for now under the temporary working identity New Jersey MLS NEXT Pro, the club will reveal its permanent brand this winter and take the field at NEXUS for its inaugural season. The Coordinator, Social Content and Storytelling is the club's day-to-day social voice and on-the-ground content creator.
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, this role sits at the local end of a hub-and-spoke content model: brand standards, production standards, and tooling come from HSH central, while day-to-day capture, publishing, and community presence happen here in market. The Coordinator will help carry social production from agency-run to fully in-house, and will be a primary contributor to the content archive documenting the club as it is built.
This is a rare opportunity for an early-career social and content creator to help shape the public voice of a professional soccer club from its very first season. The ideal candidate is a hands-on shooter and editor with native command of short-form platforms, sharp instincts for what travels, a reporter's eye for the story behind the club, and a genuine passion for soccer and the communities the game connects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and publish daily social content across the club's channels, including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and YouTube
- Shoot and edit social-first vertical photo and video at matches, training, community events, and around the front office
- Own community management across channels, responding to fans, monitoring conversation, and surfacing sentiment and emerging issues to the VP, Marketing
- Maintain the club's social content calendar, scheduling posts and coordinating timing with campaigns, matchdays, and league moments
- Capture and organize content documenting the club's build, feeding the central content archive with tagged, usable assets
- Support the transition of social production from external agency to in-house, learning existing workflows and carrying them forward
- Develop club and player storytelling, including features, interviews, and behind-the-scenes series that introduce the club to Middlesex County
- Coordinate collaboration posts and cross-promotion with MLS NEXT Pro, NYCFC, and HSH channels
- Execute the social elements of deposit, ticket, membership, and merchandise campaigns, treating social as a direct-response channel and not only an awareness one
- Support brand reveal and inaugural-season campaign content in coordination with the VP, Marketing and HSH central
- Game day content capture and adhering to MLSNP required content guidelines, i.e. we have to provide x number of photos for both home and away clubs to a league platform
- Track and report channel performance, including follower growth, engagement, and conversion, and use results to shape future content
- Work within HSH brand and production standards, and route content for approvals with HSH, NYCFC, MLS, and MLS NEXT Pro as required
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
You Have These
- 1-3 years of experience creating social content, ideally for a sports team, brand, agency, or creator-led account
- A portfolio of short-form vertical video and photo work that demonstrates a strong eye and a distinct voice
- Hands-on proficiency shooting on both camera and phone, and editing in tools such as Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Lightroom, and Canva
- Native fluency across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and YouTube, including platform trends, formats, and community norms
- Strong writing and copy instincts, with the judgment to represent a club's voice publicly and to know when to escalate
- Ability to be in market in Middlesex County and to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and matchdays
