Social Media Content Creator – Restaurant

We are looking for a creative and social-media-savvy Content Creator to help grow our restaurant’s online presence.
This is not just about posting food photos or promotional ads. We want someone who can find interesting stories and turn our food, team, behind-the-scenes moments, restaurant life and Auckland food culture into engaging social content.
You will have the freedom to suggest ideas, experiment with different content styles and help develop the personality of our social media accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and create 1–2 original content pieces per week
Adapt and publish content across Xiaohongshu (RED), Instagram and Facebook
Visit the restaurant to capture photos and short-form video content
Create engaging captions, titles and simple graphics
Edit photos and short-form videos/Reels
Develop creative content ideas beyond standard food promotions
Feature restaurant life, staff stories, behind-the-scenes content, food culture and relevant Auckland trends
Monitor basic engagement and identify which types of content perform well
Respond to or assist with basic social media engagement when required
One original content piece may be adapted for multiple platforms — we do not expect completely separate content to be created for each platform.
About You
We are looking for someone who
Regularly uses social media and understands what makes content engaging
Has a good understanding of Xiaohongshu (RED) and ideally Instagram
Can take good photos and short videos using a phone or camera
Has basic photo and video editing skills
Has a good eye for visual presentation
Can come up with interesting content ideas independently
Is reliable and able to manage a small weekly workload consistently
Can communicate in Chinese and English
Has an interest in food, hospitality or Auckland lifestyle content
Previous professional marketing experience is not required. Students studying Marketing, Communications, Media, Design or related areas are welcome to apply.
Hours & Pay
4 hours per week
$28 per hour
Permanent part-time position
Flexible working arrangement, with some time required on-site at the restaurant in Grafton
