Digital Art Director - Display Ads

Our entertainment client in Midtown is in search of a Digital Art Director, Display Ads, to design visually compelling and performance-oriented digital display ads across a range of custom and standard formats. This is a temporary/contract role and sits on-site in Midtown (5x per week). You will help shape dynamic digital marketing campaigns that bring a brand’s voice to life on multiple platforms across web, mobile and connected TV. Working alongside a talented team of copywriters, designers and producers, you will be responsible for crafting creative concepts that meet strategic objectives while adhering to industry best practices. You will be involved in every stage of the process, from brainstorming ideas to final production, ensuring every ad is optimized for digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce digital display ads, including banners, takeovers, and rich media units
- Collaborate with senior designers and copywriters to bring creative concepts to life
- Convert brand guidelines and campaign goals into engaging and effective digital visuals, tailored to the platform's requirements
- Contribute to design systems and asset libraries, working closely with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma
- Ensure all creative complies with platform-specific safety zones, technical specs and media standards
- Stay on top of emerging display trends, new ad formats and innovations in digital creative
- Maintain a well-organized file system and work efficiently with project managers and production teams to meet deadlines
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in digital design, specifically focused on display advertising across multiple formats
- A portfolio that showcases strong visual design skills and a solid understanding of digital ad best practices
- Proficiency with Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Solid understanding of digital production, including file prep, specs and resizing across various platforms and screen sizes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and adapting to feedback
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with ad platforms (such as Flashtalking) is a plus
- Motion design skills or experience with dynamic creatives is a bonus
