SEO Account Director

Account Director: SEO & Strategy | Remote | $80K

A fast-growing SEO agency is looking for a sharp, strategic Account Director to take the reins across client strategy, delivery ops, and team leadership.

The Role

You’ll lead strategy and delivery across 25–30 retained clients (mostly DTC and ecomm brands), working directly with the founder to optimize operations, improve client results, and help scale the agency from 35 to 70+ clients.

This is not a passive role; we’re looking for someone who thrives on ownership, is comfortable leading both people and process, and can step into a broader Director of Ops/COO role over time.

What you’ll be doing

• Own client strategy + communication for a portfolio of long-term accounts
• Collaborate with internal SEO, content, and link building teams
• Build systems, improve processes, and identify delivery bottlenecks
• Help hire and onboard junior team members
• Track delivery and retention KPIs, with real input on agency direction

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years in SEO client roles (agency preferred)
• Strong mix of strategic thinking + operational follow-through
• Experience managing SEO retainers, reporting, and team workflows
• Excellent communicator — high EQ, client trust builder
• Hungry to grow with a business, not just work in one
