Please note: Concept Schools staff work on-site five days per week at our Schaumburg, IL headquarters. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role.
Position Description
Concept Schools is seeking a strategic, hands-on Content & Digital Marketing Manager to lead our storytelling, editorial direction, and digital engagement efforts. This role combines the responsibilities of content strategist, copywriter, editor, and digital marketing lead, serving as the organization's primary steward of brand voice and messaging across all platforms.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, this highly visible position bridges high-level narrative development with day-to-day execution. You will not only shape the story of Concept Schools - you will manage the platforms, data, and workflows that bring that story to life and drive enrollment growth, community trust, and brand awareness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy, Writing & Editorial Leadership
- Serve as the primary guardian of the Concept Schools brand voice, ensuring consistency across web content, social media, email, print materials, video scripts, and executive communications.
- Write, edit, proofread, and approve content across a wide range of formats, including:
- Website and landing pages
- Blogs and newsletters
- Annual reports and donor communications
- Enrollment and school marketing collateral
- Press releases and talking points
- Video scripts and digital storytelling assets
- Oversee editorial standards, style guides, and quality control for all written materials.
- Manage internal copy requests, revisions, approvals, and final delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with designers, videographers, and marketing colleagues to ensure copy and visuals work together cohesively.
2. Public Relations & Strategic Communications
- Draft and maintain press releases, media pitches, and PR toolkits to support local and regional media coverage.
- Support schools and organizational leadership with messaging guidance, announcements, and community-facing communications.
- Ensure all messaging aligns with organizational priorities, compliance considerations, and brand standards.
3. Digital Platform & Campaign Management
- Plan and execute an integrated digital content strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging channels (e.g., Reels, TikTok, short-form video).
- Manage and optimize email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp, HubSpot, and CRM tools, including segmentation and lead-nurture workflows for prospective families and donors.
- Oversee website content updates and optimization in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Monitor digital trends and audience behavior to continuously refine content and platform strategy.
4. Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Track performance metrics across digital channels (email, social media, and web).
- Develop clear, actionable reports to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify growth opportunities.
- Use insights to inform content strategy, audience targeting, and platform investment decisions.
5. AI & Workflow Optimization
- Thoughtfully integrate AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper) into content development and marketing workflows to support ideation, drafting, and efficiency-while maintaining high editorial standards, accuracy, and brand authenticity.
6. Collaboration & School Support
- Serve as a key communications partner to school-based administrators, enrollment teams, and central office departments.
- Provide guidance and support to schools on messaging, content development, and brand alignment.
- Coordinate messaging and deliverables for system-wide initiatives, enrollment campaigns, and organizational launches.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, including designers, videographers, and translation services, to ensure timely and accurate content delivery.
- Support Concept Schools signature events, enrollment initiatives, and major organizational campaigns, which may occasionally require work outside of regular business hours, including some evenings or weekends.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in content creation, editing, and digital marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and manage content across multiple platforms and audiences.
- Strong command of AP Style and experience working within brand and editorial guidelines.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, CMS tools (e.g., WordPress), and social media management.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Monday.com, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of SEO, analytics, and digital performance metrics.
- Experience collaborating with vendors (e.g., translation services, creative partners).
